My name is Angus Munro & I'm a professional musician and vocalist offering online songwriting lessons to anyone who wants to learn how to write their own songs.
Above all else, I want my students to enjoy writing music & enjoy learning to write music. We will always learn in a direction that you are comfortable with & that you want to take.
My lessons are personalised to your needs as a writer and musician. I can help you write in a wide variety of genres including Pop & Rock. I will make sure every lesson is as informative as it is enjoyable.

As well as teaching experience, I also have a lot of performance experience which I can use to help you build your own confidence as well as your ability.
There are so many different aspects of song writing we can look at. I will make sure we improve on your weaknesses whilst building your strengths & before you know it we will be writing full songs & improving the quality of your songwriting.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
Whether you're and experienced musician or a beginner musician, I will create a lesson plan that suits you. I welcome both beginners and advanced players & songwriters to take my lessons & will always explain and work on anything you'd like to improve.
You don't need any prior experience.
I've been a professional touring and session musician for over fifteen years. I specialise in teaching singing in a fun and relatable way where students can progress at any pace they wish to be it comfortable or more technically challenging.
In my travels, I've been fortunate enough to sing alongside and open for some notable names including Tom Jones, Scouting For Girls and Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox to name a few. I've also toured internationally as a vocalist/solo artist and have made multiple appearances on national radio including live sessions on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Scotland.
I will use my experience as both a singer and performer to make sure we work on all aspects of your Songwriting as well as helping to build your theory understanding and your confidence.
I teach both Rock & Pop Songwriting skills
I have a four-octave vocal range and I include range lengthening techniques in my repertoire as well as promoting proper vocal healthcare. As I am also a singing teacher, I can help you learn how to sing the songs you write
However, if alongside songwriting you are interested in learning how to sing for the first time or are seasoned professional wanting to tune up – I am more than happy to cater for whatever your needs may be with enthusiasm and a relaxed atmosphere.
Over the years, I've achieved & experienced a wide variety of things including a BA(Hons) in Applied Music, ABRSM Singing Grade 8, Recurring guest on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends, internationally touring solo artist making multiple appearances on national radio as well as recording multiple albums.
Lessons are taken online via video call
My lessons are taken online via video call. I prefer to use Skype, Zoom or FaceTime but I'm open to other options. Many people think that learning online is difficult when in fact it's the opposite. You can take lessons from the comfort of your own home without having to leave the sofa.
All you need is to download Skype or one of the others & have an internet connection of at least 5mbps & the rest will all fall into place. I will always be available to help you get set up or to answer any questions you might have.
I'm a professional singer, songwriter and musician who can help you rapidly improve your understanding of theory and your confidence in your ability & then to apply these skills in a songwriting situation. I will help you write in different styles and help you break down the music that you love to listen to in your spare time.

My lessons are charged at £25 per half hour and £40 per hour for all students.
My lessons are taken online via Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or other alternatives.
I offer my lessons to students aged 10 and up. I think that for students under 10 it might be a bit more difficult to understand the basis of songwriting and the in's & out's of theory.
Weekly lessons are recommended but not essential. You can book and take lessons when you like.
Please note that Songwriting Lessons Online operates 48-hours cancellation policy. If you cancel your arranged lessons less than 48 hour if it's start time, wou will still be charged for the lesson.
