Hello! I'm David Lorimer, a professional singing teacher based in Aberdeen. I offer high-quality singing lessons in the Aberdeen area. My lessons are built around the styles and genres that you love to listen to.
I pride myself on being a friendly, patient teacher who is passionate about the progress and enjoyment of my students. I welcome students of all learning abilities, helping complete beginners to develop their singing through carefully planned lessons. My lessons focus on developing confidence, vocal strength and control - enabling you to sing the music that you are passionate about.
I have had a life-long interest in music and song, having become hooked on music after competing and winning my first singing competition at the age of 10.

I learned to play harmonica and guitar at school and have studied with some well known singers and performers on the Scottish Jazz and Traditional Music scene.
I'm able to teach both beginner and advanced students in a wide range of genres and styles. I will make a lesson plan that suits your ability level.

Hello! My name is Dave Lorimer and I am musician and singing teacher based here in Aberdeen, helping students of all abilities develop their vocal talents.
Whether you want to learn folk, rock or contemporary pop, I will tailor our lessons around what you enjoy to provide you with the skills you need to achieve whatever you set your sights on!
I teach students of all ages and am able to give after school lessons to help give younger students the best possible grounding in music in a fun and enjoyable environment.
I can teach a wide range of styles
My approach to lessons and to teaching is organic; it grows from the student's voice and from my knowledge of what it takes to make best use of that voice and meet the needs of the song. The ability to sing is everyone's gift, it is also a craft that needs to be nurtured.
In our first lesson I will scope out your needs and find your vocal range, take a look the type of songs you like, sing a few songs together and look at how to find the right key for a song.
I understand that every student is different and will have different tastes in music. I will make sure that we aim towards learning the music that personally inspires you whilst still picking up all the relevant theory.

Many of my singing students ask where are the best local stores are to buy equipment from. Luckily in Aberdeen, we have some great music shops capable of providing gear for beginners to professional singers.

My lessons are charged at £25 per hour.
I teach from a home teaching space located near the city centre. It is a great place to attend lessons, with all the resources needed.
I welcome students from the age of 10 years old to take my singing lessons. Adult learners are most welcome as well.
Weekly lessons are recommended however, you can also learn as and when you like. Some of my students take fortnightly lessons.
Please note Singing Lessons Aberdeen operates a 48-hour cancellation policy. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hour notice will still be charged full price for the lesson.
