Hi everyone, My name is Louise Whitfield & I offer high quality singing lessons for students of all levels in the Chesterfield area. I really believe that everyone can discover their own style and voice inside & I try my best to help guide you along the correct path & towards developing your own range and style. My lessons are always built around thw styles and genres that you enjoy singing in your spare time.
Learning to do anything should never be a chore, you should enjoy doing it and you should enjoy learning. My lessons are always built around you and we will always learn about the genres and styles that you enjoy. I believe that learning familiar music is the key to making great progress over a short period of time. I will make sure to help you treat and nurture your voice in the correct way.
Singing isn't easy and it can take a long time to make progress, but I'm a really committed teacher and will always help you achieve your dreams no matter how difficult or easy they may be. I will make a personalised lesson plan that is built around your goals as a vocalist. I like to make sure my students gain a positive singing technique and also understand why and how to use their bodies correctly to compliment their vocals. Posture is very important when it comes to singing and I will always pay close attention to minor details that you might not pick up on your own.
If you are a more experienced vocalist and want to improve your technique or kick some bad habits. This is something I have helped singers with before and would be happy to do with you as well. I can also help students who have had confidence issues in the past, I will take the lessons at a pace that suits you and help you gain and build that confidence that is vital to performing in front of others.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginners and advanced singers to take my lessons. I will make a lesson plan that suits you as a learner and singer. We will always work at a pace that works for you as well.
I have experience in teaching both beginner students and more advanced students.
I am a grade 8 Vocalist. I have a BA Hons in Music as well as years of performing experience.
During my younger years, I participated in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain for 6 years performing in various concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Coventry Cathedral.
I was so inspired by singers as a young child and found it fascinating how variations in the voice could evoke certain emotions when performing. Through this interest, I became particularly involved in various musical theatre productions.

I have been a vocal coach for over 6 years, but a professional vocalist for 10 years. I love to perform and I'm part of a many acts and bands across the UK.
I believe that everyone has a voice and it’s simply my job to give you the tools you need to find it! I love working one to one with pupils and helping them achieve their goals.
I focus strongly on the basic fundamentals of singing, working through various technical elements applying a strong emphasis on how good technique can lead to becoming a stronger and more capable vocalist in the future.

We are lucky enough to have a few really great music shops in the area. Here are a few that I would personally recommend.
Real Time Music, is the best place to go if you're looking for an all round music shop where you can buy everything from guitars to sheet music. They are located at 13 Marsden St, Chesterfield S40 1JY.
Palfreymans Music LTD, is great if you're looking for a locally run store that stocks a small range of guitars and keyboards among others. Their staff are always really friendly. You can find them at 171 Chatsworth Rd, Chesterfield S40 2AU.
I'm a professional singer who really believes in helping students develop their voice and style in ways they didn't think possible before. I welcome beginners to learn with me as well as more advanced singers. I will always make sure we work at a pace that suits you and that the lessons are always as enjoyable as possible. My lessons are charged at £15 per half hour and £25 per hour for all students.
I take all of my lessons either from my teaching space or from the students home.
I'm able to teach students of all ages in a wide range of styles.
You don't have to attend weekly lessons but I would recommend weekly lessons for those who want to get the most out of their lessons.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price.
