Our membership is offered on an annual basis with two paid subscription plans: Music Teacher Membership and Music School Membership. Once you’ve signed up for a membership, you’ll be able to create a teacher or music school profile on MusicTeacher.com, where students can find and connect with you. You’ll receive student requests directly, allowing you to grow your teaching business. Additionally, you’ll gain access to our community forums, where you can network with other music teachers, share insights, and explore more resources to enhance your teaching experience.
If I sign up for membership, when will I be charged?
When you sign up for the music teacher membership, you’ll enjoy a full year of free access. This means that no payment will be taken until one year after your sign-up date. You can cancel anytime during this free trial period without any cost, ensuring that you won’t be charged for a renewal if you decide not to continue.
For the Music School membership, the charge is applied immediately upon subscription and then annually on the anniversary of your sign-up, continuing until you cancel.
Are there any commission fees or additional costs per lesson?
No, there are no commission fees for individual lessons. We offer a simple annual membership fee that covers all your platform usage for the entire year.
How do I create and update my profile?
After signing up, you’ll have access to a user-friendly profile editor. You can easily add and update your bio, teaching style, qualifications, and more. Music Schools and Institutions can also showcase their teachers, and unique offerings.
Am I guaranteed student requests?
Can I list multiple instruments and genres that I teach?
Absolutely! You can highlight your expertise in various instruments and genres on your profile, making it easier for potential students to find you based on their specific interests.
Can I list multiple teaching locations?
Each profile is linked to a single primary location. If you teach in multiple cities, you’ll need separate profiles and memberships for each location.
However, both teacher and school profiles can specify if they offer lessons at the “Teacher’s Location,” “Student’s Location,” and “Online” within that primary location.
Can I change my teaching location?
Absolutely! After signing up, simply navigate to “Edit Profile” and update your “Location” information. Keep in mind that this information is shared publicly on the website, so only include details you are comfortable sharing.
Is my profile visible to the public?
Yes, your profile is visible to anyone visiting the website. Students and parents can search for teachers or music schools based on their preferences.
What happens if I become fully booked up?
If you’re fully booked with students, you can easily update this on your profile. Just switch to ‘Hide Profile’ mode until you’re ready to accept more students. While hidden, a ‘Fully Booked Up’ badge will display on your profile and your profile be removed from student searches. To reverse this simply update to ‘Show Profile’ when ready.
It’s important to note that membership fees continue during this time. Remember, your profile remains accessible through its direct link, even when hidden from general searches.
How can I connect with students who are interested in my lessons?
Interested students can contact you directly through the platform. You will receive student requests via email and as messages on the platform, allowing you to respond to students accordingly.
The student’s contact information, such as email and phone number (if provided), will be included in the request messages, enabling you to reach out to them directly outside of the platform if you prefer.
How do I cancel my membership?
Membership can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase, with a full refund. After this period no refund is offered.
Please note deleting your account will not refund your membership.
To opt out of renewal, go to your Membership Settings, click on the “Subscriptions” tab, and cancel the renewal.
