Welcome to
My name is Melissa Davies & I am a professional singing teacher based in Blackheath.
I teach to spread my love and knowledge of singing. I help students find greater vocal ease, improve their musicianship skills and unlock the joy of performing.
I teach singing at Greenwich Music School and Harvington Prep School, as well as maintaining a strong private practice teaching singing and piano in the Blackheath area. I also lead classes in Early Years Music for Little London Music School in Kensington.

I’m an experienced teacher of all different ability levels and teach classical, musical theatre, jazz and pop. I have taught all ages of child and adult students. My pupils have taken ABRSM and Trinity exams from prep test through to grade 8.
I use my experience in singing and performing to make sure your lessons are of the highest quality. I will always make sure our lessons together are also enjoyable as I feel this is a key aspect to improving any skill.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I have experience in both beginner and advanced lessons. I will tailor the lessons to you and make sure we learn in a direction that you would like to.
I am an experienced singer and teacher & will use my experience to make sure you get the most out of your lessons. Together we will learn to perfect your singing technique as well as make sure you have the correct posture.
I have worked as a singing and piano teacher for the Buckinghamshire Music Trust and in primary and secondary schools in the Buckinghamshire area. I have also taught musical theatre to large classes for Stagecoach and have worked as a deputy teacher for various Saturday music schools. This involved tutoring students in music theory and the Kodály method.
I have developed my teaching technique over years of practice and performing live & I am happy to pass on all of my knowledge to my students.
I have a detailed knowledge of vocal technique and work with students to improve theirs. As a regular performer myself, I know how to take pupils beyond singing and playing notes to deliver an exciting performance.
I always aim to make lessons enjoyable and something to look forward to. Everyone learns best in a relaxed environment and I promote an attitude of trying one’s best when addressing challenges. I am patient and adapt my teaching to each pupil.
I also work as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language to both children and adults. Although this is not directly related, This has enabled me to gain valuable experience in teaching young students and adults in a variety of topics.
Sadly, there are only a few options in the area when it comes to music shops & if you would like more options I would recommend traveling further into London.
Blackheath Violins, is an independent store located at 26 Tranquil Vale, Kidbrooke, London SE3 0AX. This is your best place to go if you would like to get a new or second hand violin.
Robert Morley & Co, is the best place nearby to go if you want to pick up a reasonably priced piano or have one delivered to your home. You can find them at 34 Engate St, Lewisham, London SE13 7HA.
Allodi Accordions, Located at 143-145 Lee High Rd, Lewisham, London SE13 5PF is the best place to go if you want to purchase an accordion or get a repair done. The staff are known for being super friendly.
I can help you improve your singing by providing you with high quality singing lessons. Together we will make sure you learn the correct way & learn to use your voice with the correct posture and technique. If you have any questions about my singing lessons, Please send me an email at anytime. I am always happy to help.
[email protected]My online lessons are priced at £30 per half hour and £40 per hour & if you want lessons from your own home they are priced at £35 per half hour and £45 per hour.
I am an online & mobile teacher so in both situations, the lessons will take place from the comfort of your own home.
I teach both children and adults in a wide range of styles.
You can take lessons as and when you like. I would recommend once a week for the best results though.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice you will still be charged for the lesson.
