Online Lessons to Improve Your Technique
Techniques You Can Learn in Online Singing Lessons
When taking Skype Singing lessons, there’s so much we can accomplish together, right from the comfort of your own home. Singing lessons aren’t just about hitting the right notes—they’re about understanding your voice and learning how to use it with confidence. Here are some of the key techniques we can develop through online vocal lessons:
Breathing and Vocal Control
A strong voice starts with proper breath support. During online singing lessons, I’ll teach you techniques to improve your breathing so you can sustain notes and sing with more ease. Learning how to control your airflow lays the foundation for powerful, controlled vocal performances. Even with the small time delay that can sometimes happen during lessons, you’ll find that these exercises translate into noticeable improvements.
Ear Training and Pitch Accuracy
Hearing and matching pitch is an essential skill for any singer. By working together, I’ll help you fine-tune your ear training skills so you can confidently hear and sing the correct notes in any melody. With the help of backing tracks and examples, you’ll learn to recognise subtle changes in pitch and develop your internal sense of sound.
Performance Skills and Stage Confidence
Singing is more than just sounds—it’s about telling a story and connecting with your audience. Online lessons also focus on how to bring your performance to life, even if you're just practicing in front of a computer. I’ll teach you stage presence, how to overcome nerves, and ways to own your stage, whether you’re performing live or for a video recording.
Flexibility and Range Building
Expanding your vocal range takes practice and the right guidance. Together, we’ll work through exercises to strengthen your voice and help you feel secure singing higher or lower notes. With consistent lessons, you’ll notice a broader range that you can access anytime.
Learning Songs with Backing Tracks
Backing track lessons are a fantastic way to practice songs with real-life performance dynamics. I’ll show you how to use them effectively, how to stay in time (even with slight time delay), and how to develop your own personal style as a singer. Singing with backing tracks also prepares you for live performances or recording sessions.
Adjusting to Online Lessons
I’ll help you adapt to the format with tips to make the most of each online session. For example, we’ll ensure you have the right setup to hear and play music without interruptions, so nothing holds you back.
With online lessons, you can take advantage of personalised coaching and expert guidance without leaving your home. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced performer, our time together will be tailored to your goals. It’s all about giving you the tools to sing with confidence and joy. I’d love to help you develop your skills and see you grow as a singer.

Classical and Musical Theatre
For students interested in classical singing or musical theatre, we’ll focus on the precise technique needed for these styles. From mastering vocal placement to practicing complex pieces, I’ll guide you step by step. With proper guidance, you’ll soon feel at home whether you’re performing on half a stage during a recital or belting out a solo.
Jazz and Soul
Jazz and soul are all about expression and feeling. Together, we can dig into the nuances of these genres during our internet sessions, using improvisation and rich tone to capture the heart of the music. I’ll teach you to play with phrasing, add dynamics, and bring your personal flair to every song.
Country and Folk
Want to connect with storytelling through music? Country and folk styles emphasise heartfelt lyrics and natural tones. I’ll help you develop the vocal strength and stamina to sing these styles with authenticity and confidence.
No matter what style excites you, each session will focus on techniques to improve your range, control, and versatility. My goal is to teach students not only how to sing beautifully but also how to express themselves fully. Through regular practice, a little patience, and maybe even a free hour to explore your sound, you’ll see tremendous progress. Whether you’re just starting or refining your skills, I’m here to support you every step of the way!

I’m truly passionate about helping my students discover their potential and build confidence in their abilities.
