About

About

Hi! My name is Natasha and I am a professional opera singer and teacher. I have trained for 8 years at various conservatoires to gain three qualifications: an Artists Diploma in Opera from the Royal College of Music, an MA (Distinction) with DipRAM from the Royal Academy of Music, and a BMus(Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

I am currently working in the industry as a freelance opera singer, with companies in the UK and abroad. Companies I have worked for include English National Opera, Garsington Opera, Opera de Lille, IfOpera and more. I also enjoy work as a recitalist, and am a Oxford Lieder and Leeds Lieder Young Artist.

As an oratorio soloist, I have performed Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Brahms’ Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C Minor and Bach’s Magnificat, amongst many others, in venues such as Cadogan Hall, Chichester Cathedral, Southwell Cathedral, Christchurch Priory and Guildford Cathedral.

I have several years of private teaching experience, specialising (but not limited to!) young adults. As part of my BMus from the RWCMD I undertook and passed a teaching module. I also regularly lead and assist in outreach work for children with companies such as Mini Mozart and Classical Music Rocks.

I believe that a good singing technique can be applied to all genres of singing as the building blocks are the same. It is those building blocks that I will focus on in lessons: breathing, support, posture, airflow and resonance. These can be worked on through games and vocal exercises. My specialism is classical singing, but I’m also happy to work on musical theatre or jazz. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy singing!
