A very passionate guitarist/vocalist/musician with over 12 years of teaching experience. I have 30 years experience of playing very many styles of popular music including work with artists such as Amy Winehouse and George Michael. I have extensive experience as a performer, music educator, songwriter and composer. I have taught students of all levels and ages privately since Spring 2004. I have taught as a guitar tutor at schools such as the Hall School in Wimbledon and the St Thomas More RC Language College as well as colleges such as London Centre for Contemporary Music Southwark, London. Full DBS disclosure has been obtained for all school teaching work. My experience working as a professional musician is extensive. Q: Do you take complete beginners? A: Yes. I’m happy taking beginners. Sometimes I even prefer beginners as I can teach the right techniques straight away, without the need to break bad old habits. Usually self-taught students or students of inadequate teachers acquire flawed right and left hand techniques unfortunately. Q: What is your method of teaching guitar? A: I build a custom made programme that would fit the student’s goals and needs. If you think you don’t have any goals and just want to play a bit and have fun, that’s also an honourable goal and I’ll just aim towards that. Just let me know what kind of music you’re into. I usually incorporate a bit of music theory in my lessons as well as encouraging my students to create music of their own. Q: What kind of styles and genres do you teach? A: Over the years I’ve dubbed with almost any possible music genre and style and therefore I can teach almost everything. From classical guitar grade exam preparations, through acoustic singer-songwriters songs to electric guitar shredding. Q: What should I bring to the lessons? A: 1) Your guitar. 2) Yourself. 3) A music notebook or a folder for A4 papers. 4) smartphone/camera if you wish to take a short video at the end of the lesson – it really does help when practising at home. Q: What is expected of me as a student? A: Three important things: practice, practice and more practice. If you don’t have a minimum of 20 minutes a day to practice – learning guitar is probably not for you. Learning a new instrument or progressing to more advanced levels requires time to practice. There’s no other alternative or a hidden secret to learn guitar quickly yet (there might a quicker way when we’ll become cyborgs…). With high Course on Viola, has got a long experience and passion for teaching Music Education and several Instruments, such as:– the Viola and Violin.– Portuguese Music Educator and Instrument Teacher. With Very Good English and French spoken and written, has attended her Viola and Music High Studies in Portugal, France and in the UK. In 2015/16 lived in London teaching Violin and preparing her students for ABRSM Exams. Invited to play at The International Busking Day, on the 23rd July (2016) has also played, with her Violin students, close to the Houses of Parliament, (Big Ben). (With Licence to play on the Streets given by “Musicians Union”, as a “Musicians Union Member”). Started to teach Music Education when was 21 years old: at École Française de Porto. Two years later, decided to apply for Public Schools in Portugal, where has taught Music Education for more than 10 years. I have been a passionate musician for 15 years, specialising in guitar. I have been composing music and performing professionally for 7 years, have experience teaching one to one guitar lessons and have led music workshops in primary and secondary schools. I am currently in Year 2 studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I teach beginners and intermediate students, guiding and challenging them towards their musical goals. Lessons are designed in a bespoke way to incorporate theory and practice, taking student preferences into account to ensure lessons are relevant, fun and exciting.

Hi! I'm a lifelong guitar player and have spent over fifteen years working in music education, teaching primary school children, teenagers, college and office going people alike. I have worked as guitar faculty at Roubles Guitar School, Suncity School and Aeolian School of Music in India, and take private in-person and online classes. I have certificates from Rockschool, London in Electric Guitar and a commitment to expanding my musical boundaries through exploration of wide ranging topics in the discipline. I'm continually inspired by the diverse and evolving ways music is created today. I find joy in playing rock ’n’ roll, the blues, funk, and metal! My method is based on learning the most basic bits in layers, cleaning up bad habits, gaining understanding about the intricacies about the style being learnt before finally applying it to more complex arrangements, in a step-by-step manner. The lessons are geared towards teaching concepts enabling you to play thousands of songs by yourself, understand musical concepts, and write music. The topics include learning Popular Melodies, Strumming patterns, Chord types, Lead Guitar techniques, Pick and Fingerstyle playing, Learning to play-by-ear, Improvisation, Music theory and using sound effects. Welcome to Kilburn Guitar Lessons! ​My name is Lewis and I am a professional guitarist, teacher, performer and composer with over 16 years playing experience. I enjoy teaching all abilities from advanced players with specialised goals, to absolute beginners. I plan my lessons to suit the student depending on what exactly it is that they want to achieve. The learning process will help students find new goals and ideas for what they want to learn next within music. Whether it’s learning your favourite songs as a hobby, or preparation for graded exams and a serious career path, lessons should always be fun. Outside of teaching I play and compose in various original groups and professional function bands. Past gigs with original projects include slots with Tears for Fears, John Etheridge, ABC and Bananarama. I currently work with music services around London including the Tri Borough Music Service and Rock Project Croydon. Before moving to London I worked with Services For Education in Birmingham. There I taught lessons in guitar, bass and whole class ukulele in multiple schools throughout the week. This work required me to really refine my lessons, planning and build the mental stamina to deliver valuable and appropriate lessons. ​ Services For Education In the summer of 2018 I taught instrument and band lessons at Camp Ballibay for the Performing Arts, Pennsylvania, USA (#1 arts camp in North America). Throughout my time there I was working with students of all backgrounds and abilities between the age of 8 and 16. I learnt to adapt my teaching approach to suit the needs of the individual. Leeds College Of Music From 2015 to 2018 I studied Jazz performance at Leeds College of Music. During this time I played in many different groups and projects; writing and performing a wide range of genres in addition to jazz, including rock, metal, pop, blues, folk and funk. Kieran is a highly experienced London-based music tutor able to teach multiple instruments and having done so in several countries. He currently works part-time for the Harrow Music Service and as a private one-to-one tutor in London. Prior to this, he had worked as a self-employed peripatetic in West Yorkshire, which itself had been preceded by working for the highly renowned Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust, and also a stint in the USA co-leading a music programme at a summer camp. As an instrumentalist Kieran is foremost a guitarist and can offer lessons in electric, classical and acoustic guitar. However, he can also teach piano, music theory, composition and arranging. Kieran is a great admirer of the renowned music educator Paul Harris and in particular, buys into his simultaneous learning technique. With this, all the areas that need to be developed in order to play a musical instrument are developed from the off at an equal speed, reducing the likelihood of students having a lopsided understanding of their instrument and a limited appreciation of all the skills needed to be a musician. This means no two students learn everything in the same order and Kieran is not just repeating the same blueprint every time. Consequently, students of his really understand the music they are playing from an early moment and are much more likely to sooner hit the magic stage where they go from being tutor dependent learners to self-dependent learners. Ultimately, what Kieran wishes to achieve with each student is to develop a love of playing music that will last a person’s lifetime. Although by no means a core principle of his teaching rationale, Kieran is more than happy to help students prepare for musical examination should they wish to go down this avenue. He has experience with the syllabuses of all the major examination boards, including Trinity, Rockschool, ABRSM and London College of Music and students that have entered under his tuition can currently boast a 100% pass rate. Kieran is able to offer either face-to-face or online lessons. For the former, lessons can take place either in his home or at the clients’ residence, dependent on availability and location. For the latter he has years of experience of doing it and so is comfortably able to adapt to the different demands that the format requires. As a performer, Kieran works in a variety of musical genres that, from the perspective of learning and rehearsing music, all operate in slightly different ways. As a result, he has first-hand experience of all of the main ways music can be taught (e.g. aurally, visually, and kinesthetically). This versatility makes him an ideal teacher for implementing wholesome, efficient and enjoyable musical learning to students of all ages and abilities. Emanuele Addis, born in 1996 in Sassari, Italy. He has begun his classical guitar training at the age of fourteen at Liceo Musicale in Sassari under the guidance of professor Calogero Sportato. He is currently attending the Conservatorio Antonio Vivaldi (Alessandria, Italy) in Frédéric Zigante’s class and he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with first-class honors. Addis will attend a Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music and Michael Lewin will be his new teacher. Addis stood out in numerous national and international competitions. To name but a few, he won the 1st prize at the Ventennale Ossola Guitar Festival in Valstrona; 1st prize at Moncalieri European Music Competition, 1st prize at the Ansaldi National Competition of 2018; he qualified for the ARD Musikwettbewerb in Munich, 3rd prize at the Brussels International Guitar Competition and the 2nd prize at Guitart International Guitar Competition 2019 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Additionally, Addis participated in several solo recitals in Italy, Germany, Belgium and Serbia. In fact, he performed at the La Cupola Theatre in San Teodoro, in Nuoro for the Young Musicians concert season, at the Festival Internazionale in Bosa Antica, as well as the solo recital at the Sala Rosa Hotel Villa Las Tronas in Alghero, at the Monferrato Classic Festival, followed by the performances at the Palazzina Liberty in Milan, at the Senato della Repubblica Italiana in Rome, Italian Institute of Culture in Munich, Germany, Theâtre du Vaudeville in Brussels and the Treća beogradska gimnazija in Belgrade. He will play as soloist the famous Concierto de Aranjuez with the Alessandria’s conservatory orchestra in June 2021.

I am a Guitarist, Composer, Teacher and Ethnomusicologist based in North London. My focus as a teacher is playing the music of the West African Mande on the guitar. We work through the traditional pieces of the kora, balafon and ngoni on the guitar, playing through cycles and grooves of the repertoire from great masters like Lassana Diabate, Ballake Sissoko and Jali Keba Susso. We explore the relationship of variation and improvisation in our performance, and how using muscle memory can aid us in performance. Lessons are delivered aurally with a focus on performance, freedom and expression. Theory is incorporated practically into the grooves we learn, while also providing frameworks for how to approach other musics. So if you want to find out more about a music you're already interested in or simply want to learn a radically new style of playing the guitar, join me in exploring this wonderful and beautiful musical language. Music Qualifications & Achievements: I hold a BMus from Cardiff University and an MA from SOAS University of London. I have studied up to Grade 8 in the Trinity College London syllabus, and have studied with practitioners of Mande music and Mande guitar including Kadialy Kouyate, Lucy Duran, Derek Gripper and Lassana Diabate. I’ve been performing across the country for the best part of five years, and have recorded an impressive collection of music. This includes my debut album ‘The Wallace Line’, a collection of original songs and arrangements, inspired by my work with African, Indonesian, Classical and Folk music. I am especially proud of this album, recorded at my home during the COVID lockdowns and being a true expression of my own language as a musician. As I’ve been stepping into a more creative and fulfilling period as a performer, I’ve been inspired to begin teaching and help others develop their skills – I want every musician to be the most creative versions of themselves they can be.
