Duke Ellington School of the Arts graduate and Berklee College of Music (Honors) alumna offering structured, personalized piano and voice lessons in NW Washington, DC (Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan, U Street Corridor) and online. With over 20 years of professional performance and teaching experience — including Billboard-charting recording work — I combine disciplined technique with musical imagination to help students build real, lasting skills. Music has been the driving force of my life. From early classical training to Musical Theater at Duke Ellington and Vocal Performance & Commercial Arranging at Berklee, my path has always been rooted in disciplined study and deep artistic curiosity. That same commitment to excellence shapes my teaching. I work with children, adults, beginners, advanced students, and aspiring professionals. Lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student’s musical interests — from classical and musical theater to jazz, pop, R&B, gospel, and songwriting — while following a sequenced curriculum that builds strong technique and confidence. This is not a “just press a few keys and have fun” approach. Students develop real musicianship — reading, ear training, phrasing, breath control, theory, and performance presence — and are guided toward playing meaningful music early in their training. You will see and hear measurable progress. I view lessons as a true collaboration. My goal is to give each student the technical foundation and artistic confidence to play or sing what they hear in their heads and feel in their hearts. Technique is the bridge to artistic freedom. Students in my studio learn to: Build strong technical foundations Understand music theory in a practical way Perform with confidence Set goals and achieve measurable progress Excellence and enjoyment are not opposites — they fuel each other. Whether you are beginning, returning after years away, or preparing for auditions, I look forward to helping you grow. Music is a lifelong pursuit — let’s pursue great music together.

With over a decade of experience spanning the creative, digital, and educational sectors, I am a passionate educator and multi-instrumentalist dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical talent. As a Curriculum Lead and Music Technology specialist, I bridge the gap between traditional performance and modern production. My teaching philosophy centers on a holistic approach to music-making: Guitar Instruction: I provide specialized, one-on-one private lessons tailored to individual student needs, focusing on technique, theory, and personal expression. Composition & Curriculum: I have designed and implemented comprehensive performing arts programs, integrating transdisciplinary units that connect music with humanities and language. Mixing, Mastering & Technology: With a BSc (Hons) in Music Technology and professional experience as a sound engineer, I provide expert instruction in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools and Ableton. I teach students the nuances of sound design, recording techniques, and the technical artistry of mixing and mastering to industry standards. I thrive on turning complex creative ideas into meaningful outcomes, whether guiding a student through their first composition or managing the technical logistics of a live performance. My goal is to empower students with both the creative confidence and the technical proficiency required to succeed in the modern music industry.
Hi there! I’m Soheil. I believe music is meant to be felt, not just followed. With over a decade of experience teaching everyone from 5-year-old beginners to adult rockers, my goal is to make your musical journey as dynamic and rewarding as a live This "all-arounder" approach means our lessons won't just be about reading notes—we’ll explore rhythm, theory, and history to give you a 360-degree understanding of your instrument. What you can expect in our lessons: • Tailored Coaching: Whether you’re prepping for Rockschool, LCM, or ABRSM exams, or just want to play your favorite songs, I adapt my style to your goals. • Creative Freedom: As a composer and recording artist, I love helping students move beyond the page to find their own creative "spark." • Confidence Building: We’ll focus on expressive, performance-based learning to get you feeling stage-ready (even if your "stage" is just your living room!). I hold a B.A. (Hons) in Music Education & Performance from York St John University, but more importantly, I bring the energy of the international festival stage directly to our screen. Let’s make some noise!
I studied Audio Visual production at Bournemouth Media Institute before moving to London in the late nineties. There I worked as a session musician, press officer before beginning to teach music in 2000. Originally motived to work with NEET young people at LBTH New Start programme, I found I really could make a difference with music. Teaching bass, drums and guitar, I soon branched out into having a teaching practice of my own based around SE London. I have been teaching in SW London, Surrey and now Sussex, ever since. Pensioners who want to perfect their Blues or progress with their progressions; young players who want to make some noise; and aspirants who want to follow a route, through examinations, towards perfection. Nowadays I teach online and to people all over the world. The logistics might change but the passion for teaching doesn’t I have a grade 8 in classical guitar from ABRSM, numerous credits for film score composition and credits as a working session musician. I can help you to see music from all angles to progress your abilities – no matter from where you begin.
Conor Jordan has five years’ experience of teaching students how to learn music. With his enthusiasm and interest in acoustic guitar, and electric guitar, he has helped to improve his student’s progress from beginners to more advanced stages of playing. Having completed grade 8 in each of his chosen instruments and an RSL Level 4 Professional Diploma in teaching, he has provided students with encouragement, support, and guidance to allow them to go on to achieve their musical ambitions. He believes that students learn best when they are engaged in lessons, enjoy making music and have the opportunity to play in a supportive environment. This is what he aims to achieve in each of his lessons.

I am a professional operatic singer and voice teacher, currently active in the international operatic stages, with professional performance experience across Europe and North America. I am a Canadian citizen from Montreal, and I hold a Bachelor of Music in Voice (Opera Performance) from McGill University, one of Canada’s leading music institutions. Alongside my performing career, I am deeply committed to vocal pedagogy and to helping singers develop healthy, expressive, and stylistically authentic voices. As an opera singer, I am actively engaged in professional productions and concerts, with upcoming professional leading role engagements in Europe. This ongoing performance activity allows me to bring real-world, current industry experience directly into my teaching. I understand the practical demands of auditions, rehearsals, and performances, and I guide my students not only technically, but also artistically and professionally. My teaching focuses primarily on classical voice, opera, and Bel Canto technique, with a strong emphasis on vocal health, breath management, legato singing, resonance, diction, and stylistic accuracy. I work with singers at various levels, from beginners who are discovering their voices for the first time, to advanced students and pre-professionals preparing for auditions, competitions, conservatory entrance exams, and professional engagements. I also offer focused coaching for opera roles, arias, art song, and audition repertoire. Having studied and performed in multiple musical traditions, I bring a flexible, individualized approach to each student. No two voices are the same, and I believe strongly in adapting technique to the singer’s physiology, repertoire, and artistic goals rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. My approach combines solid classical foundations with musical imagination, helping singers achieve both technical freedom and emotional communication. Language and diction are a central part of my teaching. I work extensively on Italian, French, and English vocal repertoire, and I help singers develop clear, stylistically correct pronunciation and phrasing. Thanks to my multilingual background, I am able to teach and communicate fluently in English, Persian, and Turkish (native level), with professional proficiency in French and intermediate Italian. This makes my studio especially welcoming for international students and singers working across different operatic traditions. In lessons, students can expect a supportive and focused environment where technical clarity and artistic growth go hand in hand. I emphasize sustainable vocal technique, body awareness, and efficient practice methods, ensuring that singers build voices that last over time. Whether the goal is improved vocal confidence, preparation for an important audition, or refinement of advanced operatic repertoire, my aim is to help each student reach their highest potential while maintaining vocal health and joy in singing. Online lessons are conducted in a professional, structured format, making high-level operatic training accessible regardless of location. With today’s technology, I am able to offer detailed feedback on technique, sound production, interpretation, and musical style, just as effectively as in person. If you are passionate about classical singing, opera, or vocal artistry, and are looking for guidance from an active professional opera singer with international experience, I would be delighted to work with you and support your vocal journey.
