Hi, my name is Robert! I am a conductor, singer, composer and teacher based in London. I started learning piano when I was 3 years old and studied at Junior Guildhall until the age of 8. I then sang as a chorister in the choir of New College, Oxford, where I also began to play the cello. During my teens, I reached grade 8 at the piano and cello, and achieved a Diploma in singing performance. At the University of Manchester, I began to study conducting, eventually directing the University chamber choir, Ad Solem, before graduating with first class honours. During this time I also sang in the Genesis Sixteen choral program, which offered intensive training for elite young choral singers led by The Sixteen. I have been teaching singing, piano, cello and conducting privately ever since graduating, as well as directing several choirs and ensembles. I work frequently for the National Youth Choirs, London Youth Choirs, and Nottingham Youth Orchestra, and am currently employed as a teacher in the Royal College of Music Junior Department. I can offer singing and conducting tuition at all standards, and piano and cello up to grade 6. Music Qualifications & Achievements: University of Manchester MusB first class DipABRSM in Singing Performance ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano ABRSM Grade 8 in Cello
I am a soprano from Greece who has been classically trained at the esteemed Royal Northern College of Music (Bachelor of Music with Honours) in the department of Vocal Studies & Opera. I have experience teaching singing to students (all ages) at various levels, from complete beginners to more advanced, and helped them elevate their vocal skills both technically and expressively. During my studies, I followed courses on Pedagogy/Tutoring Singing and Vocal Anatomy & Health, which gave me important guidance on how to teach singing successfully and with care. In my singing lessons, I aim to create an encouraging environment and safe space that allows experimentation of the voice in order to uncover the full potential of each pupil. My teaching method focuses on obtaining a robust vocal technique, with supported breathing and correct vocal placement. I teach my students vocal exercises that improve register blending, mixed-voice, vocal stamina, and vocal flexibility. These aim to release the voice from tension and discover each singers’ unique qualities, abilities, and character. Furthermore, understanding how to use text and phrasing in a manner that colours a melody with meaning and emotion is very important in enriching the interpretative skills and creativity of a singer. I am passionate about helping my students learn to perform with musicality, sincerity and confidence. I am open to working on any of the student’s favourite songs! It is important to work on music that suits each pupil’s particular voice type and brings their vocal training to the next level. I am happy to cover any of the following genres: Opera/Classical, Musical Theatre, Jazz standards, and Pop. I have the appropriate experience to prepare students for ABRSM examinations as well as for Conservatoire and University auditions. I have worked with superb, world-acclaimed Vocal Coaches/Vocalists throughout my singing journey and always aim to pass on their insight and advice to my own students! I also trained as an actor at ActUpNorth where I had the chance to work with professionals of the film/TV industry on in-depth acting methods; I believe that these skills of analysing a character offer important guidance concerning the process of attaching emotion to the performance of any song (a Pop song, Musical Theatre piece, or Opera aria) which helps to uncover the meaning behind lyrics, subtext, and thoughts that the song expresses. More about me: Since moving to the UK, I have performed in recitals, masterclasses, competitions and participated in Opera Productions, including taking on the lead role ‘Serpina’ in Pergolesi’s opera LA SERVA PADRONA, as well as ‘Zerlina’ in Mozart’s opera DON GIOVANNI for the RNCM Opera Scenes 2019-2020. Musical Theatre has been at the centre of my life since I was young and I attain an extensive background in this field, including performing in the Musical GODSPELL at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and portraying the lead character ‘Reno Sweeney’ in the Musical ANYTHING GOES. Moreover, I often work with Pop musicians, rehearsing and recording with them, and I really enjoy exploring varying musical styles. In October 2020, I released my debut Pop single “Castaway”, a collaboration with emerging Artist/Producer Elia, a track which was described as cutting-edge, genre-blending, and full of innovative production and alluring vocals. I am fortunate to perform in a wide variety of live shows and concerts for events across the United Kingdom, including Classical, Crossover/Musical, and Pop/Function (live band) sets. Music Qualifications & Achievements: Royal Northern College of Music — Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Studies & Opera International Baccalaureate Diploma: 38/45 overall points (Higher Level Subjects: Music, English Literature, Psychology | Standard Level Subjects: Environmental Systems, French and Maths) IGCSEs: 4 A*s, 4 As and 2 Bs (Subjects: English Language, English Literature, French, Greek, Physics, Chemistry, Drama, Art, Maths, Classical Civilisation) ABRSM: Singing Grade 8, Piano Grade 7

Singing lessons: what to expect
Singing lessons near you
The best singing lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a coach who helps you build your voice safely and consistently. Search by location to find in-person singing lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist vocal coaches for pop, musical theatre, rock, classical, and exam preparation.
Who singing lessons are for
Singing lessons are for complete beginners through to experienced performers. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, and adults — whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence, joining a band or choir, or returning to singing after a break.
What you’ll learn in singing lessons
Most students work on breath control, pitch, tone, range, vocal agility, and song interpretation. A good vocal coach will also help you practise effectively, warm up safely, and build vocal stamina — so you improve without strain.
Online vs in-person singing lessons
Online singing lessons can be highly effective for technique, consistency, and flexible scheduling — especially with an experienced coach. In-person lessons can feel more immersive and are great if you prefer face-to-face feedback and hands-on guidance.
A simple learning path for singing
A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.
Learn healthy breathing, posture, warm-ups, and simple exercises to improve pitch accuracy and reduce strain while building confidence.
Develop stronger breath support, resonance and tone control, smoother transitions between registers, and start expanding your usable range.
Improve vocal agility, dynamics, phrasing and expression, build stamina for longer songs, and develop performance skills — tailored to your style and goals.
Getting started: what you need
Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.
- No kit required: you can start with your voice, a phone recorder, and a quiet room.
- Hydration and warm-ups matter more than volume — good singing is built on consistency, not pushing.
- If learning online: headphones and a stable internet connection make lessons smoother.
Styles & goals your teacher can support
Choose a direction — lessons can be tailored around what you actually want to play.
Pitch, tone, breath control, runs, stylistic choices, and building confidence for modern pop songs.
Clarity, projection, character, stamina, and audition prep — combining technique with performance.
Healthy power, grit and intensity (when appropriate), safe belt development, and avoiding vocal fatigue.
Foundations of technique, resonance and diction, musicianship, and structured preparation for exams.
