A kind, patient, and knowledgeable teacher with years of experience teaching to all ages! If you’re looking for a comforting hand to help you or your child develop as a musician, I can help! As a working professional, I have the musicianship and teaching experience to help you push through whatever hurdles you may be facing. I pride myself in my focus on enjoyment for my sessions, I promise fun and productive environment for both my online and in person teaching. Drop me a message if you want that from our teacher! ABOUT THE LESSON: We’re all at our own stages of our musical journey and we all resonate differently to different teachings. Because of this I’m a believer in a reactive teaching style where, as the student, you get to decide what music you want to play to best suit you. I’m able to teach jazz, classical, pop, and other genres all to a high level so no matter what you’re looking for we can find improvements. The first lesson we have together will be more focused on getting to know your playing and finding any faults in technique we can iron out for the next session. From there, we’ll choose music and exercises, specifically chosen to help you develop; to learn between sessions so we can work on them together! It’s important for you to practice independently and I do often set homework; without strong practice we won’t be able to make any progress! ABOUT ME: I’ve been a working professional musician for 5 years, with a resume spanning music festivals both nationally and internationally (Cheltenham Jazz, London Jazz, Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul, Nozstock, and many more). I’ve done international tours to Portugal and Germany, notably having a platform at the Pico Jazz festival in the Azores. My teaching resume includes 1-1 teaching from the ages of 6-80, and 3-years’ worth of group workshop teaching. I’ve seen my teenage students go on to attend music schools across the country such as RBC, WRCMD, and Guildhall. Coming from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire jazz department, my knowledge and skills on saxophone, clarinet, and flute are all the highest standard. Outside of teaching, my main project is pushing my own jazz quartet featuring my own music. I have an enhanced DBS. I would love to hear from you, send me a message!

Originally from Glasgow, I am a born performer and drama teacher with a real passion for creativity, inclusion, and helping young people shine on stage. I trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduating in 2015 with a degree in Applied Performance (Community & Education). In 2017, I received my Postgraduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs & Disabilities from the University of Birmingham, where my primary research and studies focused on making performing arts more accessible for all learners. I have worked to build a career that blends performing, teaching, and creating inclusive spaces for everyone to explore the arts. Over the years, I have worked with a range of community groups, colleges, and theatres throughout the West Midlands, including the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Midlands Arts Centre and The Artrix Centre (Bromsgrove). I have taught Drama and Singing to young people of all ages and abilities—in the UK and internationally having worked in the USA and spending two years in Shanghai with The Walt Disney Company. Working for Disney, I used Disney stories as a learning medium to teach English and Drama. Whilst there, he also wrote and directed interactive theatre shows that toured local schools, combining entertainment with education. Although working full time in the Civil Service, I still continue to teach and direct, always finding new ways to keep my lessons fun, imaginative, and tailored to all of my students. Whether it’s devising new theatre or helping individuals to find their voice on stage, energy, creativity, and care for every single performer is always at the forefront of my lessons. I am excited to finally offer tailored one-on-one sessions in acting, screen acting and singing as well as exam preparation work for established examination boards such as LAMDA and PAA/RSL.
