I have many years of singing experience across several genres and really enjoy sharing and spreading my passion for singing and songwriting with others. Whilst in school I competed in local and national Scots singing competitions and undertook lead roles in musical theatre productions both with my local theatre group and Youth Music Theatre UK. Whilst living and working in Aberdeen, I was the voice of Audrey 2 in Attic Theatre’s 2016 production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, and played Sarah in the Scottish Premiere of ‘Murder Ballad’ with Harlequin Theatre. in 2017. I am now based in Glasgow and have re-branded my solo output as ‘Modern Sonder’, releasing my debut emo-alt -rock EP ‘Crisis, Grace & Growth’ in October 2020. I am continuing to work on my own original music alongside teaching singing. Sarah Wagner’s interest in bringing theatricality to classical music has led her to perform in a diverse array of locations ranging from the Palace of Auburn Hills with Detroit-based rapper Eminem to underneath motorway bridges in Glasgow to the throne room of Buckingham Palace. Her ongoing performance piece Under the Bridge is a collaboration with After the Pandemic and combines Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons with original street art beneath the Kingston Bridge. The filmed performance of “Summer” was featured in the Scotsman, the Sunday Post, and on BBC Radio Scotland. Under the Bridge culminated in a live performance of The Four Seasons at Glasgow Cathedral during the United Nations COP26 conference in Glasgow. Sarah works primarily in the theatre, having performed across the United States, Scotland, Germany, and Italy in over 50 different productions ranging from classical opera to contemporary musical theatre. In addition, her work as a recitalist focuses on the narrative aspects of instrumental music and uses classical music to tell contemporary stories. As a teacher, Sarah has a range of experience working with students of all ages in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. She believes in a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to music education by combining technical pedagogy with a diverse repertoire of classical, pops, and traditional music. Sarah received her Bachelor’s of Music (high honours) in violin performance and educational studies under the tutelage of Wen Lei-Gu from Lawrence University and her Master’s of Music and Advanced Postgraduate Diploma while studying with Andrea Gajic at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Music Qualifications & Achievements: My teaching expertise is varied and comprehensive encompassing both academic work and practical experience. During my undergraduate studies at Lawrence University, I studied music education on both instrumental and general music tracks. This dual path ensured I studied string-specific pedagogical methods such as Suzuki, Galamian, and Flesch as well those designed for use in general music classrooms such as Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Orff. Having a well-rounded understanding of these different pedagogical methods enabled me to adapt my teaching to a variety of different settings ranging from the Appleton String Project after-school program to the summer I spent volunteering as a violin tutor in Haiti. Upon graduating, I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where I began teaching privately and worked with students ranging from ages 4 through 18. One of the greatest benefits of individual music instruction is the ability to tailor your teaching to each student’s unique needs and interests. I believe it is this passion for meeting every student where they are, and then guiding them to take the next step, that enabled me to increase the size of my private studio from 5 to 25 students.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Popular Music
Hi! I have been teaching violin for several years both privately and through Muswell Young Musicians in London and I teach beginner and intermediate violin, up to Grade 5. I have experience with students of all ages and abilities, and particularly enjoy working with beginner students, no matter their age. My youngest pupil was 4 years old. I also have experience with students who need extra support in learning, particularly students with Autism. I aim to provide lessons that are fun – I want you to love the violin! The more you love to play, the easier it is to remember to practice at home. We will be learning music theory as we go, so you can better understand what you’re playing. I also combine learning violin with lots of singing in the lessons to help with ear training and general musicanship, drawing on Kodaly Method. We will focus on listening skills, reading music, improvising, as well as technical and musicianship skills required to play the violin. I trained in Violin (Grade 8 RCME) and music theory (Grade 2 RCME), as well as theatre performance, in Canada. I am a friendly and encouraging teacher. I have a BA in theatre, and I love to explore storytelling and emotional expression through music. I am a classical violinist, but will be excited to explore different styles with you, from trad. music to pop covers, whatever makes you excited to play music! I have taken several students through their ABRSM exams, and am confident to help you through that, up to Grade 5. I also think there is value in playing without being graded, so please let me know what your goals are when we start so I can help guide you. I check in often about your goals and how you are finding playing so that lessons are tailored to your experience. Practicing performing is very important as well, and I make sure that we have several informal concert opportunities through the year, whether that is performing for other students, or for your family, or some friends. Lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 mins. You will need your own instrument. I can help with sizing and recommendations if you have any questions! If you have begun playing already, please bring any music with you so I can see where you are up to. If you and a friend, or two siblings would like to start with group lessons, please do speak to me. The pricing and timing will be slightly adjusted, and I will want to make sure that the participants are well matched, but I am happy to explore the idea with you, even if just to start with! If you have any questions, please do get in touch. I hope to hear from you! Eleanor. Music Qualifications & Achievements: I have my Grade 8 RCME (the Canadian equivalent of ABRSM) and my Grade 2 Theory. I am currently studying my Masters in Theatre Directing.

I provide bespoke lessons, carefully prepared to cater to your own individual aims and aspirations. This can vary from wanting to play a few tunes for relaxation, to exams, competitions, and preparation for university and conservatoire entrance auditions. I believe that the most important part of musical education is enjoyment! The pleasure of playing has to be fundamental to learning, and I see this as the most important part of lessons. I am a piano teacher based in Giffnock, with over 20 years experience working with students of all ages and abilities. I am a graduate of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) - now known as The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) - where I studied solo piano performance, collaborative piano performance, and electroacoustic composition. In developing my own performance skills I have studied with Philip Jenkins (Former Head of Keyboard at RSAMD), Jean Hutchison, and Fabiana Galante, and taken Masterclasses with Bernard Roberts as a soloist and Malcolm Martineau (current International Fellow in Collaborative Piano at RCS) as an accompanist for voice, as well as Performance Classes with Professor Fali Pavri (current Associate Head of Keyboard at RCS). During my studies, I was the regular accompanist for (then Head of Voice) Chris Underwood's Performance Classes for new Undergraduates. I went on to specialise in contemporary piano, and have performed prepared piano and piano with electronics, including both tape and live processing via MAX MSP. I have been honoured to perform several premieres of new compositions by emerging young composers. I have won classes at Glasgow Music Festival as a soloist and as a piano duet member, and was a finalist in Lanarkshire Musician of the Year playing Bach and Messiaen. I have accompanied dance classes and performances for Dance UK and as a ballet accompanist for The Terry School of Dance in Bridge of Weir. I have worked for both the Church of Scotland and Catholic Church to provide music for worship, including running a Youth Group for teenage musicians to perform on varied instruments - such as keyboard, electric guitar, bass guitar, flute, oboe, voice - at Catholic Mass. Teaching is an absolute passion for me. I began teaching during my studies at RSAMD. As part of the Techniques of Teaching courses, I was initially instructed by Jack Keaney and then went on to shadow teaching at St Aloysious College as well as both Junior and Senior RSAMD students. Teachers I shadowed include Marina Nadiradze, Fali Pavri, and Sinae Lee. Ms Nadiradze then supervised me teaching her own students to ensure I was capable and competent to set out on my own. As well as maintaining my own private practice for the past 20 years, I have also taught for Paisley Academy of Music and Woodfarm Music Workshop in East Renfrewshire. Former students from my own practice have gone on to study at: The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus (Hons)); Trinity College of Music, London (MMus); London College of Music (BMus (Hons)); Napier University (BMus (Hons)); University of the West of Scotland (BA Commercial Music); Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Francesco Venezze", Rovigo, Italy (BA Composition); Edinburgh College (HND Music); West College Scotland (HND Music Business); Junior School of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; Pre-Junior School of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

For the past 8 years, I’ve been working as a professional musician. This has taken me across the world and regularly takes me across the UK. I’ve got experience in everything from television, radio, recording sessions, big bands, function bands, singer-songwriters, jazz and theatre pits. Have you ever taken a double bass up a very perilous hill to play while someone proposed to their partner? I have! Bass is my specialist instrument, I am not a guitarist who also teaches bass. I was at college studying music and then progressed to University. I have a BA(Hons) degree in music from Edinburgh Napier University where my specialist subjects were jazz and first study electric bass. I’ve taken private lessons with Janek Gwizdala, Anthony Wellington, Jeff Berlin and Sharay Reed. As a teacher, I have taught bass privately for 12 years. I teach as an instrumental instructor in schools so I’ve got experience from the absolute beginner to more seasoned players regardless of age group. Students have gone on to pass exams both in school and graded, gotten accepted to places in college/university, started/joined bands and generally just getting out and playing more to have fun. Music Qualifications & Achievements: BA(Hons) Popular Music
I initially studied pipe band drumming to learn all the rudiments needed before studying the full drum kit. I first played with local pop bands in central Scotland and then left the country to play the drums in Jersey, Isle of Wight, Spain, and England. I went on to become a Session Drummer in England working for the Beverley Agency and played in a variety of venues all over England. I returned to Scotland and enhanced my drumming experience by studying various other types of drum music under the guidance of Andy White from the BBC. I then studied how to read drum music under the guidance of the percussionist with the Scottish Symphony Orchestra. I still play with various bands when asked but now mostly teach. My drum lessons are an hour long on a 1:1 basis and cover reading, playing, technique, and listening, using the following books: Dave Hassell Drums 1&2, Rock School Drums, Absolute Beginners Drums. I have been taught by Andy White from BBC. Andy played on a version of ”LOVE ME DO” by the BEATLES and was producer George Martin’s studio drummer at Abbey Road. Music Qualifications & Achievements: Drum tuition from the ex-professional drummer for all ages from beginners to advanced I teach up to grade 6 Rock School Drums

I’ve been learning drums and session drumming for over 17 years with various pop, rock and metal bands to singer/songwriter artists, ceilidh and wedding/functions bands. I can teach everything you need to know from beginner to advanced, grade 1 to grade 8 and all ages and abilities are welcome. When you book a drum lesson with me, I’ll create a custom lesson plan using the RockSchool & Trinity Graded Exam Syllabus complimented with my own material.
