With high Course on Viola, has got a long experience and passion for teaching Music Education and several Instruments, such as:– the Viola and Violin.– Portuguese Music Educator and Instrument Teacher. With Very Good English and French spoken and written, has attended her Viola and Music High Studies in Portugal, France and in the UK. In 2015/16 lived in London teaching Violin and preparing her students for ABRSM Exams. I have been a passionate musician for 15 years, specialising in guitar. I have been composing music and performing professionally for 7 years, have experience teaching one to one guitar lessons and have led music workshops in primary and secondary schools. I am currently in Year 2 studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I teach beginners and intermediate students, guiding and challenging them towards their musical goals. Lessons are designed in a bespoke way to incorporate theory and practice, taking student preferences into account to ensure lessons are relevant, fun and exciting.

Hi! I'm a lifelong guitar player and have spent over fifteen years working in music education, teaching primary school children, teenagers, college and office going people alike. I have worked as guitar faculty at Roubles Guitar School, Suncity School and Aeolian School of Music in India, and take private in-person and online classes. I have certificates from Rockschool, London in Electric Guitar and a commitment to expanding my musical boundaries through exploration of wide ranging topics in the discipline. I'm continually inspired by the diverse and evolving ways music is created today. I find joy in playing rock ’n’ roll, the blues, funk, and metal! My method is based on learning the most basic bits in layers, cleaning up bad habits, gaining understanding about the intricacies about the style being learnt before finally applying it to more complex arrangements, in a step-by-step manner. The lessons are geared towards teaching concepts enabling you to play thousands of songs by yourself, understand musical concepts, and write music. The topics include learning Popular Melodies, Strumming patterns, Chord types, Lead Guitar techniques, Pick and Fingerstyle playing, Learning to play-by-ear, Improvisation, Music theory and using sound effects. As an accomplished guitarist, I have been fortunate enough to work and perform with top international musicians in a variety of musical genres including jazz, classical, popular and world music, enabling me to experience the artistic and social benefits of different ways of music-making. This work has seen me perform at a wide variety of top venues such as London’s Ronnie Scotts, The 606 club and Manchester Academy and many more. I have a firm grounding in both classical and contemporary styles with a particular focus on jazz and improvisation as my specialism. This is something I try to bring to my lessons, encouraging students to find their own voice on the instrument whilst developing core musical skills through a repertoire that they find engaging. I began teaching privately whilst studying music at the university in Manchester, where I was recommended as a teacher for a range of students, including relatives of faculty members from the University music department. Following that, I spent several years employed by Havering Music Services whilst completing my Jazz Guitar Masters at GSMD. HMS was an excellent vehicle for me to further develop my skills and experience in the guitar teaching profession, working with students of much younger ages and in more varied group situations. My name is Lucas and I’m a guitarist and guitar tutor based in North West London. I have been a music teacher for the last 4 years since I graduated. Since then I have taught privately and for organisations such as the Band Project and Your Guitar Academy. I’m a graduate of The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, where I did the BMus course. I have been playing for many years, and have completed tours in Japan, America, Europe and South America. I’m also an endorsee for JAM Pedals, ACS Custom, Protection Racket and Gamechanger Audio, and as a session player, I perform with people like Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music. I am a Guitarist, Composer, Teacher and Ethnomusicologist based in North London. My focus as a teacher is playing the music of the West African Mande on the guitar. We work through the traditional pieces of the kora, balafon and ngoni on the guitar, playing through cycles and grooves of the repertoire from great masters like Lassana Diabate, Ballake Sissoko and Jali Keba Susso. We explore the relationship of variation and improvisation in our performance, and how using muscle memory can aid us in performance. Lessons are delivered aurally with a focus on performance, freedom and expression. Theory is incorporated practically into the grooves we learn, while also providing frameworks for how to approach other musics. So if you want to find out more about a music you're already interested in or simply want to learn a radically new style of playing the guitar, join me in exploring this wonderful and beautiful musical language. Music Qualifications & Achievements: I hold a BMus from Cardiff University and an MA from SOAS University of London. I have studied up to Grade 8 in the Trinity College London syllabus, and have studied with practitioners of Mande music and Mande guitar including Kadialy Kouyate, Lucy Duran, Derek Gripper and Lassana Diabate. I’ve been performing across the country for the best part of five years, and have recorded an impressive collection of music. This includes my debut album ‘The Wallace Line’, a collection of original songs and arrangements, inspired by my work with African, Indonesian, Classical and Folk music. I am especially proud of this album, recorded at my home during the COVID lockdowns and being a true expression of my own language as a musician. As I’ve been stepping into a more creative and fulfilling period as a performer, I’ve been inspired to begin teaching and help others develop their skills – I want every musician to be the most creative versions of themselves they can be.
