Learn All Genres Including Musical Theatre
When you take singing lessons with me, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and refine your singing voice across a variety of genres. As a singing teacher and vocal coach, I believe that versatility is one of the most valuable skills a singer can develop, and I tailor my approach to each student's unique interests and goals. Whether you’re stepping into the world of music for the first time or are an experienced performer looking to perfect your technique, I’ve got you covered.
Pop – Sing the Songs that Define the Soundtrack of Life
Pop music is one of the most versatile and expressive genres, and it's often where students start their vocal training. Together, we’ll work on improving your ability to deliver meaningful performances, mastering breath control and vocal tone so you can bring your favourite songs to life. Whether it’s the latest chart-topping hit or a timeless classic, I’ll guide you in creating a sound that makes the song uniquely yours.
Musical Theatre – Telling Stories Through Song
If you love the magic of musicals, my singing lessons offer the perfect opportunity to explore this dynamic and emotional style. Musical theatre is about more than just hitting the right notes; it’s about becoming the character, connecting with the audience, and bringing the story to life. Using techniques like expressive phrasing and character development, I’ll help you build the skills needed to captivate any audience. My professional singing lessons are tailored to help you shine on stage.
Classical and Opera – the Art of Precision
For those who are drawn to the timeless beauty of classical music, I bring a wealth of knowledge in technique, tone, and music theory. My teaching in this genre focuses on building vocal strength, control, and clarity while ensuring proper breathing and alignment. With deliberate practice, we’ll unlock the nuances of this art form, delivering performances that are both powerful and emotive.
Jazz – Freedom and Expression
Jazz is all about feeling the music and expressing yourself in the moment. My jazz-focused sessions will help you develop your improvisation skills, master unique phrasing, and gain a deeper understanding of music theory. This genre is wonderful for music students who enjoy creative freedom and want to explore techniques that bring personality and life to their voice.
A Flexible Approach
For students in Manchester, my one-on-one singing lessons provide a supportive, hands-on experience. If you’re used to learning from home, I have experience supporting students who are used to online lessons. Together, we’ll craft a learning plan that matches your voice, goals, and schedule.
No matter the genre, my role as a singing tutor is to teach you how to listen to your voice and unlock its full potential. To me, singing is about more than technique—it’s about connecting with a song and bringing it to life in a way that resonates with you and your audience. Your first lesson is all about discovering your unique sound and setting a foundation for growth. With dedicated practice and support, you’ll develop the confidence to perform songs in any style.
Improve Your Vocal Technique
As a singing teacher and vocal coach, my goal is to help you uncover the full potential of your singing voice. During our singing lessons, we’ll explore a variety of vocal techniques tailored to your unique needs. Here are some of the key areas to better understand how your voice works that we can focus on together:
Breath Control and Support
One of the first things I teach as a singing tutor is how to use your breath effectively. Proper breath control is the foundation of a strong singing voice. You'll learn techniques to support your sound, sustain notes, and develop more power and consistency in your singing. Through focused exercises, you’ll build stamina and the ability to sing with confidence.
Pitch and Tone Development
As singers, understanding pitch is critical. During our lessons, I’ll guide you on how to “listen” to your voice, refine your pitch accuracy, and expand your tonal range. Together, we’ll focus on exercises and scales that strengthen your ear and vocal flexibility, helping you achieve precision and clarity across genres.
Vocal Dynamics and Expression
Singing is more than just hitting the right notes—it’s about bringing emotion and life to every song. I’ll teach you how to control dynamics, like volume and phrasing, to connect with your audience and bring a performance to life. Whether you’re a student interested in pop, classical, or musical theatre, our lessons will be tailored to meet your expressive goals.
Music Theory and Its Role in Singing
A well-rounded singer benefits from knowledge of music theory. For those interested, I can include lessons on reading sheet music, understanding chord progressions, and even some basic piano skills to accompany your practice. Knowledge of other instruments like the piano can give you a deeper appreciation for music and enhance your ability to perform confidently with others.

Singing is such a powerful form of expression, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way on your musical journey. My goal is to help you feel confident and connected to your voice while achieving the progress you’re striving for. Whether you’re aiming to sing professionally, prepare for a special performance, or simply enjoy singing as a hobby, I’d love to work with you.
