Danilo Ricciardiello

Danilo Ricciardiello is a London-based professional guitarist, composer, producer and music educator with over 20 years of experience in performance, recording and teaching. His work bridges contemporary music, jazz, rock, blues, composition and electronic music, combining a strong academic background with extensive real-world industry experience.
He holds a BMus (Hons) in Jazz Guitar from the Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples and a Master of Composition with Distinction from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama, specialising in Electronic & Produced Music.
Danilo subsequently completed a Junior Fellowship at Guildhall (2024–2025), where he also worked as a Visiting Lecturer, contributing to teaching, curriculum development and interdisciplinary creative projects.
His professional career spans international performances, studio recordings, orchestral productions and music for film and media. His experience includes projects at the Barbican and Southbank Centre, appearances at the London Jazz Festival, and collaborations with institutions including Guildhall, London College of Music and the National Trust.
Alongside his performance and production work, Danilo is an affiliated artist with Chaos Audio and Death Cloud Pedals, and has collaborated with music technology brands including Blackstar Amplification and Arturia.
He also creates educational and creative guitar content through his online platforms, including The Pedal Stampede, a dedicated YouTube channel exploring guitar pedals, effects, sound design and experimental music production through original musical projects.
He is the founder and Artistic Director of Electric Earth Orchestra, an innovative ensemble exploring the intersection of orchestral music, electronics and contemporary composition, and the founder and Musical Director of Sydenham Guitar Orchestra, a community ensemble bringing guitarists together through collaborative performance and specially arranged repertoire.
Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, Danilo believes that learning music should go beyond simply mastering an instrument. His teaching combines technical development, musical understanding and creative exploration, helping students become confident, independent and expressive musicians.
With extensive experience teaching children, adults, beginners and advanced musicians, he tailors each lesson to the individual’s interests, ambitions and learning style.
Whether students want to explore their favourite songs, develop improvisation skills, prepare for examinations, compose original music or become confident recording artists, Danilo provides a supportive and structured learning environment that encourages both progress and creativity.
His teaching covers guitar, bass, ukulele, music theory, songwriting, composition and music production, across styles including rock, blues, jazz, pop, metal, classical and experimental electronic music.
Danilo also brings specialist experience in music examinations and assessment. He is a registered MTB Exam Conductor, has undertaken Rockschool examiner training, and holds recognition from Trinity College London for successful examination preparation. He supports students preparing for MTB, Trinity, Rockschool and ABRSM examinations, from introductory levels through to Grade 8.
Beyond instrumental tuition, Danilo offers guidance in music production, recording techniques, sound design, orchestration and creative portfolio development, drawing on his professional experience with industry-standard software and recording technologies.
Above all, Danilo’s aim is to help students develop not only their musical abilities, but also their own musical identity, creativity and confidence.
