Music has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting in Cagliari, Italy, where I was born and raised. During my formative years, I studied classical guitar and received private lessons in jazz guitar, which fueled my passion for modern styles. The music of Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Pat Metheny opened a window to the fascinating worlds of rock, jazz, and blues. Today, as a freelance session guitarist and guitar tutor, I have extensive experience in live performance, studio recording, session playing, and songwriting. I enjoy the versatility and creativity that comes with working across a wide range of genres. As a guitar teacher, I cater to beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students. My lessons blend practice and theory, ensuring that students not only learn how to play chords or songs but also understand how chords and scales work together. I have experience teaching both children and adults, and I hold an enhanced DBS check. I can also assist students who are preparing for grade examinations. I strive to make my lessons fun and interactive, always providing customised study materials tailored to each student’s needs. Whether a student has just picked up the guitar, is at a more advanced level, or needs inspiration to develop their skills, I love teaching and find my greatest reward in seeing students achieve their goals. I offer discounts for bookings of five or more classes. There is an additional fee of £5 to £10 for lessons conducted at your home, depending on the distance I need to travel. I also teach the ukulele to beginners and intermediate players, and I provide transcriptions for acoustic and electric guitar, complete with tabs, standard music notation, and lyrics synchronised with the score. I began teaching guitar at the age of 18, just before going to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I honed my teaching skills whilst still a student myself and have since had many pupils, from children to middle-aged people, with various interests and abilities. Coming from a classical background and having studied more contemporary styles including jazz, I can cater to whatever genre a student is interested in, whilst emphasising key fundamentals such as reading notation and basic harmonic understanding. Many of my older students have wanted to develop their technique just enough to be able to play through some pop songs, so I now consider myself quite adept at identifying aspects of a person’s playing which when fixed can really elevate their playing. It’s important to me that I make learning the guitar enjoyable as well as informative, so I try to make lessons as interactive and as fun as possible. Music Qualifications & Achievements: GSCE Music – A A Level Music B Bachelors Degree in Music PGCE in Secondary Music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching
