We offer teaching in a wide range of musical styles with each of our teachers having their own areas of specialization and their own preferred musical styles to work in. I have 20 years of professional experience teaching singing to students of school age, teens, young adults and adult learners. I work with professionals in the musical theatre and pop industries and have students in West End, touring and international shows. I have sung my entire life but really only learned to like my voice in my late teens. Having experienced anxiety, loss of confidence, low self esteem and perfectionism throughout my life, I am able to support and understand students who may also be experiencing similar issues. I am an accomplished pianist, so can support students musically, with audition material and a wide range of repertoire across different genres. I believe in working with a person as a whole and I draw on elements of the life experience and practical knowledge that I have of singing, performing, writing and recording. I teach across styles including musical theatre, pop, rock, R&B, classical and folk and use the tools that work best intuitively. I draw on elements from various sources, models, methods and just plain common sense and am always looking to broaden my knowledge and skill set. The most important thing for me is to encourage students to feel empowered and to provide them with the support and reassurance they need to find, release and to sing with their own, true voice, and to accept and respect who they are as individuals. No one sounds the same and no one is the same.
I have been teaching singing and music for 5 years. I am a professional musician and musical theatre performer and have been performing professionally since the age of 8. I grew up performing in a folk band where we would travel around the UK performing at festivals and clubs. I play over 7 different instruments because of this and when I finished school I was accepted into a drama college where I trained for 3 years in Musical Theatre. I have taught music and singing at drama colleges and youth performing arts schools both 1to1 and in-class settings and have performed in various band both singing and playing instruments such as piano, guitar and bass. Since graduating I have gigged around the country with various bands, performed as a soloist, been Musical Director and am currently performing at the O2 Arena in Mamma Mia! The Party UK. I have a huge passion for music and absolutely love giving people the opportunity through teaching to find that passion for themselves too. I like to make my lessons as fun as possible and will help you work towards your own goals, whether that be taking parts in exams or just playing and singing for the love of it. Singing lessons: what to expect
Singing lessons near you
The best singing lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a coach who helps you build your voice safely and consistently. Search by location to find in-person singing lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist vocal coaches for pop, musical theatre, rock, classical, and exam preparation.
Who singing lessons are for
Singing lessons are for complete beginners through to experienced performers. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, and adults — whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence, joining a band or choir, or returning to singing after a break.
What you’ll learn in singing lessons
Most students work on breath control, pitch, tone, range, vocal agility, and song interpretation. A good vocal coach will also help you practise effectively, warm up safely, and build vocal stamina — so you improve without strain.
Online vs in-person singing lessons
Online singing lessons can be highly effective for technique, consistency, and flexible scheduling — especially with an experienced coach. In-person lessons can feel more immersive and are great if you prefer face-to-face feedback and hands-on guidance.
A simple learning path for singing
A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.
Learn healthy breathing, posture, warm-ups, and simple exercises to improve pitch accuracy and reduce strain while building confidence.
Develop stronger breath support, resonance and tone control, smoother transitions between registers, and start expanding your usable range.
Improve vocal agility, dynamics, phrasing and expression, build stamina for longer songs, and develop performance skills — tailored to your style and goals.
Getting started: what you need
Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.
- No kit required: you can start with your voice, a phone recorder, and a quiet room.
- Hydration and warm-ups matter more than volume — good singing is built on consistency, not pushing.
- If learning online: headphones and a stable internet connection make lessons smoother.
Styles & goals your teacher can support
Choose a direction — lessons can be tailored around what you actually want to play.
Pitch, tone, breath control, runs, stylistic choices, and building confidence for modern pop songs.
Clarity, projection, character, stamina, and audition prep — combining technique with performance.
Healthy power, grit and intensity (when appropriate), safe belt development, and avoiding vocal fatigue.
Foundations of technique, resonance and diction, musicianship, and structured preparation for exams.
