About

About

I am an enthusiastic singing teacher with over ten years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. In my lessons, I work with pupils to establish a good, healthy technique and to develop their unique, natural sound in a positive and relaxed environment. I am experienced in teaching students in a variety of styles ranging from classical, musical theatre and popular. Whether you are a beginner or advanced student, I can help you gain confidence with your singing and achieve your singing goals.

I have successfully prepared students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (prep test to Diploma level), music scholarships, auditions and concerts. The majority of my students have received merit or distinction results in their examinations. Recent student successes include entry into prestigious music conservatoires, distinctions at Grade 8 level, including ABRSM and Trinity Rock and Pop, music scholarships to universities and schools, and a highly sought after place in Winchester Cathedral Choir. I can also prepare pupils for ABRSM theory exams up to Grade 5.

Lessons can take place in person in Claygate or online via zoom.

I have experience working with a diverse range of students, including those with severe learning difficulties, including autism. I understand that every student is unique and adapt my teaching to suit the needs of different students.

Alongside a teaching career, I am a professional mezzo-soprano with regular performance experience in opera, oratorio and recitals. During my studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, I participated in a mentor scheme with English National Opera. ln 2018, I co-founded the opera company Grassroots Opera, co-directing and performing the role of Orfeo in Gluck’s ‘Orfeo ed Euridice’ in a tour of the West Country. Performing highlights include the role of Lelio in the UK premiere of Viardot’s Le Dernier Sorcier with Gothic Opera, being a Young Artist with Bury Court Opera, performing in the ensemble of mad voices and covering the title role in the premiere of Mad King Suibhne (Noah Mosley) and being selected as a finalist in the Schubert Song Prize, singing in a masterclass with Dame Felicity Lott, for the London Song Festival.
