My love for music originated in childhood when I was a member of the choir of a music school and we often participated in city song competitions, as well as in the Estonian Song Festival traditionally held every four years. I will never forget this special feeling of singing in the choir of several hundred participants. Years later I graduated from Narva Music School and Tallinn Georg Ots Music School in Estonia where I studied classical piano as my 1st instrument, popular piano, and Estonian traditional instrument kannel as my 2nd choice. Among my most significant performances at that date were participation in the International Chopin Competition, as well as second place on the Estonian Radio 4 channel in the category of French piano music. Life later took me to the University of Hull, where the world of opera and musical theatre opened its doors for me. I began to actively participate in opera and operetta productions, festivals, and concerts organized by the music and drama department. After graduation, I continued to participate in Opera 17 group, Hull Savoyards Operatic Society, and Hull Minster Choir. In addition to singing, I worked as an accompanist in New County Choir, Priory Park Singers Choir, and as a pianist in Hull Unitarian Church. I was also fortunate enough to temporarily work with Hull Minster Children’s Choir, assisting the music director. I confess that at the present moment of my musical career I do not adhere to a strictly defined genre. Since I sometimes write my own music, I really like to combine styles and techniques. For example, I recently performed at a Chinese Whispers concert as a mezzo-soprano in a trio with piano and violin. Before that, we were back from touring in the UK with our indie folk band Goodnight Vincent, where I play keyboards and sing. I work as a peripatetic piano and singing teacher in a studio, at St Mary’s college, as well as privately. I am also an accompanist in Hull Savoyards Operatic society, as well as in New County choir under the direction of Stan Kell. About My Piano Lessons My piano lessons usually include several techniques such as sight-reading, playing by ear, and some improvisation. This approach gives students the freedom and opportunity to become an all-rounded musician, performing different music. At the same time, at the request of the student, we can focus on the classical repertoire and prepare for exams. Especially when it comes to children, I use a holistic teaching approach. My students also study ear training (solfege) and music theory. As a graduate of Narva School of Music, which is based on the teaching methodology of The St. Petersburg State Conservatory, I consider an integrated approach to teaching necessary. We also participate in local talent competitions with my students. About My Singing Lessons My singing lessons will do for those who are interested in classical voice training, as well as singers of other genres. It is my deep conviction that it is opera/ classical singing that unlocks the potential of the voice. After mastering the bel canto technique, it is possible to create anything with your voice, including singing jazz and pop music. I confess that I myself perform, and also sometimes write songs in different genres, and I am ready to experiment. I can’t wait for you in my lessons to share my knowledge and experience. Music Qualifications: Hull University (Hull, United Kingdom) – Bachelor’s in music (BMus; 2:1), specializing in classical singing and composition, 2015- 2018 Tallinn Music College of Georg Ots (Tallinn, Estonia) specializing in piano performance, 2011-2012 Narva Music School (Narva, Estonia) specialty: the department of classical music, main instrument – piano, 2nd instrument – kannel, choir, 1992-2000

Singing lessons: what to expect
The best singing lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a coach who helps you build your voice safely and consistently. Search by location to find in-person singing lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist vocal coaches for pop, musical theatre, rock, classical, and exam preparation.
Singing lessons are for complete beginners through to experienced performers. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, and adults — whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence, joining a band or choir, or returning to singing after a break.
Most students work on breath control, pitch, tone, range, vocal agility, and song interpretation. A good vocal coach will also help you practise effectively, warm up safely, and build vocal stamina — so you improve without strain.
Online singing lessons can be highly effective for technique, consistency, and flexible scheduling — especially with an experienced coach. In-person lessons can feel more immersive and are great if you prefer face-to-face feedback and hands-on guidance.
A simple learning path for singing
A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.
Learn healthy breathing, posture, warm-ups, and simple exercises to improve pitch accuracy and reduce strain while building confidence.
Develop stronger breath support, resonance and tone control, smoother transitions between registers, and start expanding your usable range.
Improve vocal agility, dynamics, phrasing and expression, build stamina for longer songs, and develop performance skills — tailored to your style and goals.
Getting started: what you need
Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.
- No kit required: you can start with your voice, a phone recorder, and a quiet room.
- Hydration and warm-ups matter more than volume — good singing is built on consistency, not pushing.
- If learning online: headphones and a stable internet connection make lessons smoother.
