Eliza teaches singing lessons for all ages and abilities. She believes that everyone has a voice and all we need to do is find that voice and let it flourish. We’ll pick songs ideal for you, in the right key for your range. Eliza also encourages you to work on songs out of your comfort zone in order to challenge you. She does lots of recordings within her lessons to enable you to learn through hearing yourself back, as well as perfecting a complete recording to mark your progress. Eliza also puts on quarterly private showcases at a cosy cocktail club in the heart of Bristol, providing you with a fantastic opportunity to perform to family, friends and fellow students. Not only are these events superb for your confidence, but they are also full of fun and warmth and are truly uplifting for all involved! Music Qualifications & Achievements: BA Hons in Commercial Music Grade 8 Distinction in Rock School Vocals I run a successful community choir, Bristol Choir Brigade I have: Hosted several music events and judged at competitions such as Open Mic UK and Teenstar Performed professionally at several private events over the years Been a session singer for various projects over the years Eliza also came up with the idea to produce a remake of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day”, the BBC’s 1997 Various Artists version. She wanted to portray her students’ progress: all ages and skill levels, highlighting the fact that you can take up singing whatever stage you’re at. Most of the students featured in this video have never sung to anyone before or even knew they had a voice. Eliza wanted her students to pick a Bristol location of their choice: somewhere important to them or their favourite landmark. She then brought her students together to form a choir for the gospel section at the end of the song.

Ola Koziol - Singing teacher
Ola Koziol
Singing18 Blackthorn Walk Bristol BS15 1TZ GB13.5 km

I’m Ola, a singing teacher and vocalist with a background in music education and psychology. I offer psychologically informed singing lessons that support both vocal development and authentic self-expression.My teaching philosophy is based on a simple belief: the voice is not separate from the person using it. Singing is a technical skill, but it’s also shaped by breath, emotion, attention, confidence, and our relationship with our own body. Because of this, my teaching focuses not only on how your voice sounds, but on how it feels to sing.I trained originally as a musician and educator, graduating with a BA in Music Education with Distinction, specialising in Popular Music Instrumental and Vocal Bands and Jazz Vocals. My musical background includes classical piano, harmony and ear training, improvisation, ensemble work, and leading vocal and instrumental groups. In addition to my previous solo and band work, I’m currently involved with the Murmuration Choir in Bristol, which has deepened my interest in collective voice and embodied musical communication.Alongside my musical training, I hold a MSc in Psychology and have professional experience working in mental health services. This informs how I teach: I’m attentive to nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and clear boundaries, and I recognise that voice work can feel personal and vulnerable. This allows me to support students in a grounded, respectful, and sustainable way while working practically with voice, breath, and expression. I’m also neurodivergent, which shapes my sensitivity to different learning styles, sensory needs, and ways of processing information. I value clarity, flexibility, and collaboration, and I adapt my teaching to support how each individual learns best. From a technical perspective, my teaching is grounded in healthy, anatomy-informed vocal technique. I have trained extensively in mix voice and contemporary vocal approaches, and I’m a former Associated Member of the International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM). Through this membership and ongoing professional development, I’ve engaged with current vocal science and evidence-based approaches to sustainable voice use, focusing on balance and long-term vocal health.A key element of my approach is developing interoceptive awareness — the ability to notice internal sensations such as breath flow, effort, resonance, tension, ease, and emotional arousal. This kind of internal listening helps singers build reliable technique, avoid strain, and repeat what works without forcing. Over time, it also supports emotional literacy: recognising how feelings show up in the body and voice, and learning how to express them safely through sound.I work in a person-centred way, adapting lessons to each student’s needs. You might come to singing because you want to perform, prepare for exams, improve technique, explore improvisation, or reconnect with your voice after a break. You might also be looking for a creative way to build confidence, regulate stress, or develop a stronger sense of self-expression. Beginners are very welcome. There is no “right” type of voice here — just curiosity, respect for your body, and space to learn. In my teaching, technique and expression are never separate. We work with breath, resonance, articulation, rhythm, harmony, and text — always in relation to how your body responds in the moment. My role isn’t to impose a voice on you, but to help you develop trust in your own internal feedback. After all, your body is the instrument, and you are the expert on how it feels to use it.If you’re looking for singing lessons that are grounded, respectful, and deeply human — where your voice is treated as both a musical and embodied experience — you’re very welcome here.

Samantha Hayes - Singing teacher
Samantha Hayes
SingingFishponds Rd, Bristol, UK16.6 km
£17.50

My name is Samantha and I’m a professional vocalist and singing teacher and I have been performing now for over 15 years as a solo vocalist and with various bands at corporate events, including weddings, parties and theatres. I have been working in primary schools for an over a year working in PPA in both singing and music theory teaching to classes of 30+ and despite its challenges, I thoroughly enjoy working creatively with others and love to be part of their musical journey. My early beginnings began when I was about 8 years old. My love of music was apparent from then when I took to the stage. I began performing at singing competitions and charity functions to gain the experience and to build on my stagecraft, whilst also finishing my GSCE’s, I decided to take to road and gig with only a small PA system at the time and started performing at private parties, social clubs and weddings. I was able to make music my career path and haven’t looked back since. I am comfortable with a wide range of musical styles, including country, rock, pop and musical theatre depending on your style and preference. I know what it’s like to start out from the very beginning and not having any knowledge or vocal training and being able to gain that experience is vital for any performer and what I hope I can bring to these singing lessons is that through my knowledge and experience is to help and guide each student on their musical journey, whether they are wanting to do it as a hobby or to help build confidence by taking it to the next level of singing professionally. I can meet your very needs so If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Music Qualifications & Achievements: Bath Spa University – Professional Musicianship Degree

Fully qualified singing teacher. Bachelor in Pop and Jazz singing, Master in Music Pedagogy. Providing vocal and music training for children and adults of all ages. Experienced in live singing and songwriting. I recognize my role as a singing teacher as comprising three necessary and interdependent elements: teaching appropriate techniques to keep my students’ voices healthy and developing at their natural rate; nurturing a sense of fun and love of music and singing; and caring for them as an individual. I do my utmost to tailor my teaching to each student by prioritizing these elements as appropriate. You should expect to work on your vocal technique, such as breath support, vocal placement, and projection. As you work on the song, I will give you feedback on your singing: let you know what you’re doing well, and point out areas where you can improve. Singing lessons: what to expect

Singing lessons near you

The best singing lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a coach who helps you build your voice safely and consistently. Search by location to find in-person singing lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist vocal coaches for pop, musical theatre, rock, classical, and exam preparation.

Who singing lessons are for

Singing lessons are for complete beginners through to experienced performers. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, and adults — whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence, joining a band or choir, or returning to singing after a break.

What you’ll learn in singing lessons

Most students work on breath control, pitch, tone, range, vocal agility, and song interpretation. A good vocal coach will also help you practise effectively, warm up safely, and build vocal stamina — so you improve without strain.

Online vs in-person singing lessons

Online singing lessons can be highly effective for technique, consistency, and flexible scheduling — especially with an experienced coach. In-person lessons can feel more immersive and are great if you prefer face-to-face feedback and hands-on guidance.

A simple learning path for singing

A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.

Weeks 1–4: Breath, pitch & confidence
1

Learn healthy breathing, posture, warm-ups, and simple exercises to improve pitch accuracy and reduce strain while building confidence.

Months 2–3: Control, tone & range
2

Develop stronger breath support, resonance and tone control, smoother transitions between registers, and start expanding your usable range.

Months 3–6: Style, performance & stamina
3

Improve vocal agility, dynamics, phrasing and expression, build stamina for longer songs, and develop performance skills — tailored to your style and goals.

Getting started: what you need

Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.

  • No kit required: you can start with your voice, a phone recorder, and a quiet room.
  • Hydration and warm-ups matter more than volume — good singing is built on consistency, not pushing.
  • If learning online: headphones and a stable internet connection make lessons smoother.

Styles & goals your teacher can support

Choose a direction — lessons can be tailored around what you actually want to play.
