About Craig Davis

The Davis Academy of Music – Voted #1 Music Lessons in Bloomington, Indiana!

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Craig Michael Davis (Doctorate in Music, IU Jacobs School of Music) and Emily Davis (NYU Vocal Performance, IU MFA), The Davis Academy of Music is a downtown Bloomington music school offering private, one-on-one lessons for kids, teens and adults. Our team of coaches includes award-winning performers and Jacobs School of Music graduates and doctoral students who make every lesson fun, engaging and tailored to each student’s goals.

Lessons we offer: piano and keyboard, voice and musical theater, guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, drum set, saxophone, trumpet and brass, organ, songwriting, composition, music theory and conducting. Beginners through advanced students are welcome.

What makes us different: every student gets the chance to perform in our semester student concerts (December and May). Our piano program follows the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum with a clear level system, so parents and students can see real progress. Our online student portal lets you change your schedule, pay for lessons and track repertoire, notes and comments from your coach.

Instrument rentals: rent-to-own student instruments from $29/month – violins, violas, cellos, guitars, keyboards, winds, brass and more – delivered to your school or picked up at our Bloomington shop.

Special offer: mention MusicTeacher.com and get 50% OFF your trial lesson! Not sure yet? Book a FREE Meet & Greet to learn about our lessons and see if they’re right for you or your child. Enroll anytime.

“It is never too late to learn to play a musical instrument.” – Craig Michael Davis, founder
