I am Suchait, a guitar instructor, performer, and mentor, with over 20 years of professional experience. I am the founder and lead instructor of Jazzelinn Guitar School, where I have trained over 1,000 students globally across all levels. I specialize in Rock, Metal, Fingerstyle, Blues, Pop, Bollywood, and misc. genres, and I prepare students for both Trinity Rock & Pop and Rockschool UK graded examinations. I hold Rockschool UK Grade 8 (Electric Guitar) and have extensive experience in teaching structured curricula, technique development, music theory, and performance training. My teaching approach blends discipline, creativity, and personalized lesson planning for each student, whether beginner or advanced. My student base spans the US, UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, Australia, Canada, and I conduct fully online, high-quality 1-on-1 lessons using professional-grade audio/video equipment. Many of my students consistently achieve distinctions in international grade exams. I believe in personalized, student-centered learning that balances technical skill development with the joy of playing music. Each lesson is tailored to the student's goals, whether they want to play for fun, prepare for exams, or pursue music professionally. I am here to connect with trainees who want serious, skill-oriented guitar training in contemporary and modern styles. I bring long-term experience, strong communication, a global track record, and a dedicated teaching environment. Teaching Style: My teaching style is student-centered and adaptive. I focus on understanding each student's musical goals, learning pace, and interests to create personalized lesson plans. I emphasize proper technique from the beginning while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable. I use a structured approach that covers essential skills—chord progressions, rhythm, scales, music theory, and song repertoire—while allowing flexibility to explore the styles students are most passionate about, whether that's Rock, Metal, Fingerstyle, Blues, Pop, or Bollywood music. I believe in building confidence through progressive challenges, celebrating small wins, and maintaining clear communication. My lessons blend technical development with practical application, so students can quickly start playing songs they love while developing strong foundational skills for long-term growth.

Ben Gallagher - Guitar teacher

Two of my passions in life are the guitar and teaching and I feel so blessed to be able to combine them into a profession. If you’re a complete beginner, don’t worry because that was me once too so I know what it’s like! For your first few guitar lessons, I’ll provide a guitar if you need one so you don’t have to burden yourself with that expense until you’re confident you want to carry on. We’ll work at a pace that suits you and I’ll have you up and running in no time with a few simple chords and songs. Learning something new can be daunting so please invite a friend along if that would make you more comfortable. If they want to participate by learning themselves as well, we can work out a reduction in price for the two of you. If like me, you’ve been playing for years, you’ll have a different motivation for seeking a tutor. Maybe you want to extend the skills you already have, perhaps there are gaps in your knowledge that are hindering your progress, it’s possible you’re an expert in certain elements but a novice in others and you want to develop yourself as an all-round musician. If any of these are you, I’m here to help. Why choose me over another teacher? Well, what I offer that many other tutors don’t is that I will come to you. This means that not only do you get to avoid any hassle with travelling but you can learn from the comfort and security of your own home. Alternatively, if this is your preference, I provide lessons through Facetime or Skype. We all have a number of commitments in our hectic lives. If you can only manage fortnightly lessons instead of weekly, if you do a night shift and are only available for lessons during the day, if you have holidays planned and can’t commit to regular lessons, if you spend a few months each year out of the country and are worried that will be an issue, don’t concern yourself. Whatever your situation, I can work around your schedule. Gradings and exams might be the route you want to take and if that is the case, I can guide you in the development of your skills, whether that be: playing set pieces, scales, sight-reading, improvisation, aural or music theory. However, if you have no interest in attaining a qualification, that’s not a problem. Instead, we can concentrate on learning to play recognisable songs, incredible guitar solos or beautiful classical pieces. You may be interested in the electric guitar and using a plectrum with an amp or effects pedal. It might be the acoustic/classical guitar and the fingerstyle technique that inspires you. Either way, you’ll learn all you need to know from me. Whilst I teach, I write out notes and draw diagrams for you because I know what a pain it can be trying to remember what we went through together in the lesson. I also have printable resources for all aspects of learning that I provide as and when you’re ready for them. If you live in Winchester or the local surrounding areas, get in touch and we can discuss setting up an introductory lesson. For those who live further afield, I’m more than happy to make the journey to you but I would ask for a reasonable fee to cover my travel expenses. Please note that my lessons are for adult students and I do ask for money for travel and for any parking expenses I incur whilst in your home teaching you. Music Qualifications & Achievements: I first started playing the guitar 15 years ago when my brother bought an acoustic for himself and I couldn’t wait to have a go. Since then, I’ve worked my way up to grade 7 with Trinity College London, which means I’m very familiar with the ins and out of preparing for and taking exams. As well as that, I’ve spent numerous hours reading books, visiting websites, watching YouTube videos and experimenting to harness my abilities. I’ve also built up a large bank of songs, some just the chords that I strum out and sing along to and others the amazing guitar riffs, licks and solos of tunes we all know and love. As well as having a natural ability to explain things in a way people can understand with ease, I’m very organised, almost to OCD proportions, which means I give lessons to a high standard. Over many years, I’ve created tonnes of teaching resources, all of which I use to guide and support my students.

Hi, I'm Billy, a guitarist from South East London who's been performing live since I was eighteen. I was trained at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and have over five years of private teaching experience. Having begun as a self-taught musician, I believe it is fundamental for students to first find their passion, as this will provide the necessary motivation to advance. Whether you've just got your first guitar, or you wish to build upon your existing skills and advance your playing - I will make sure to tailor my lessons to you. With more than seventeen years of playing, over five years experience teaching privately, and two and half years spent in primary schools, I am well versed in teaching both young and old, new and advanced students. As a versatile musician, I am accomplished in many genres and playing styles, including rock, blues, jazz, metal, funk, disco, country, pop, soul, punk and many more. Having helped students learn their first song, while also helping others improve their improvisation and soloing skills, I am confident and happy to teach students of all ages and abilities. As a songwriter and performer in my own band, I have performed across the country for many years, showcasing my own compositions. I also have experience working with singer songwriters, function bands and session work. I have six years of musical education, having studied at Access To Music in Stratford, before studying music at degree level at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn, where I achieved First Class Honours.

Music has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting in Cagliari, Italy, where I was born and raised. During my formative years, I studied classical guitar and received private lessons in jazz guitar, which fueled my passion for modern styles. The music of Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Pat Metheny opened a window to the fascinating worlds of rock, jazz, and blues. Today, as a freelance session guitarist and guitar tutor, I have extensive experience in live performance, studio recording, session playing, and songwriting. I enjoy the versatility and creativity that comes with working across a wide range of genres. As a guitar teacher, I cater to beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students. My lessons blend practice and theory, ensuring that students not only learn how to play chords or songs but also understand how chords and scales work together. I have experience teaching both children and adults, and I hold an enhanced DBS check. I can also assist students who are preparing for grade examinations. I strive to make my lessons fun and interactive, always providing customised study materials tailored to each student’s needs. Whether a student has just picked up the guitar, is at a more advanced level, or needs inspiration to develop their skills, I love teaching and find my greatest reward in seeing students achieve their goals. I offer discounts for bookings of five or more classes. There is an additional fee of £5 to £10 for lessons conducted at your home, depending on the distance I need to travel. I also teach the ukulele to beginners and intermediate players, and I provide transcriptions for acoustic and electric guitar, complete with tabs, standard music notation, and lyrics synchronised with the score. Please feel free to get in touch for a quote, and I can also provide examples of previous transcriptions. Music Qualifications & Achievements: Qualification in Music Theory – Conservatory of Music, Cagliari, Italy. Equivalent to grade 8 BA (Hons) in Graphic Arts – Academy of Fine Arts, Florence, Italy. Guitar lessons: what to expect

Guitar lessons near you

The best guitar lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a teacher who helps you progress with clarity. Search by location to find in-person guitar lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist teachers for acoustic, electric, fingerstyle, rock, or grades.

Who guitar lessons are for

Guitar lessons work for complete beginners, intermediate players, and advanced students. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, or adults returning to guitar — with a focus on the styles and songs you actually want to play.

What you’ll learn in guitar lessons

Most students work on chord fluency, rhythm, strumming feel, scales, finger placement, and repertoire. A good teacher will also structure your practice so you build confidence and technique without getting stuck.

Online vs in-person guitar lessons

Online guitar lessons can be highly effective, especially for busy schedules and specialist tuition. In-person lessons can feel more hands-on and are great if you prefer local support and face-to-face feedback.

A simple learning path for guitar

A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.

Weeks 1–4: Foundations
1

Learn posture, tuning, chord changes, strumming patterns, and how to practise without building bad habits.

Months 2–3: Songs & rhythm
2

Build a steady sense of timing, expand chord vocabulary (including barre chords), and play full songs with confidence.

Months 3–6: Technique & style
3

Develop picking, fingerstyle, lead basics, improvisation foundations, or exam preparation — depending on your goals.

Getting started: what you need

Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.

  • Acoustic vs electric: your teacher can recommend what fits your music taste and comfort.
  • A tuner + a few picks is enough to start — then add a capo or strap as you progress.
  • A simple practice routine beats long sessions: aim for consistency, not intensity.

Styles & goals your teacher can support

Choose a direction — lessons can be tailored around what you actually want to play.

Acoustic singer-songwriter
Popular

Grades / structured progression
