Voice and Performance coach working with singers and actors, as well as individuals looking to improve their speech and/or communication. I am located in Hertfordshire, teaching from my bases in WD4 and WD5, as well as online. I have taught Pop/Contemporary Singing and Musical Theatre for the past eight years, with several of my students gaining credits on West End, theatre tours, gigging work and recording work in that time, as well as gaining music scholarships for schools, stage schools and further education. Others use their vocal development to help build their confidence, communication and presentation skills, with my previous corporate clients as a voice coach including Tresemme UK and Refinery29. For the past two years, I have been working as a vocal coach for deaf children, which is an area I absolutely adore and am keen to expand. I offer Pop and Musical Theatre exam entries with London College of Music, from Entry Level to Grade VIII, and have a 100% exam success rate. I can also help with preparations for auditions, festivals, performances and recordings, as well as offering lessons purely for fun, technique and confidence. For artists looking to develop their own material, we can also incorporate songwriting into our sessions – whether that’s beginners starting out, or artists wanting to take their delivery of their songs to the next level. I regularly set aside time in sessions to record great footage of singer’s work, for those who like to use for auditions and social media. When the time is right, I can also recommend trusted local session musicians and producers for collaboration for those looking to gig and record. I am experienced working with both children and adults, and offer a truly personalised service, to find the right approach and technique for each individual. My students span from 4 years old to adult, and cover all levels of experience from beginner to professional. I pride myself on building strong and supportive relationships with those I work with, and offer a safe, nurturing environment where singers are free and encouraged to experiment, take risks and make mistakes. I have a passion for helping singers discover and embrace the uniqueness of their voice, and gaining control over it’s true potential. I especially love working with those who are currently facing blocks with their voice and/or communication, and working together to find the causes and solutions. As a current performing professional myself, my knowledge and experience is up to date – incorporating modern vocal technique, repertoire and industry knowledge. The Number Seven Music Academy brings together years of teaching and real-world experience of carefully chosen musicians to create a new and exciting way for children to learn contemporary music skills. Each of us is passionate about inspiring a new generation of musicians. We aim to motivate our students to explore their potential… as future performers, writers, session artists or, ultimately, just for the confidence and fun that comes from developing a skill that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. We believe children learn best when high quality teaching is combined with the regular opportunity to play together in a band and to perform live in front of an audience. Our school gigs give you and their friends a regular chance to come and watch them play and to appreciate what they have achieved. A rounded (and employable!) musician can play in any genre and therefore we draw upon a wide variety of styles throughout our courses, introducing influential artists throughout the decades to help our students to understand the ancestry behind what they are listening to today and what they might create in the future. Between us, we have many years of teaching experience giving us a wealth of knowledge about how children learn… Good habits and accurate technique builds a much better platform for success than learning fast and muddling through, so we teach extensively around the Rockschool syllabus, focusing on demonstration followed by fun and varied exercises during which our tutors give tailored guidance to each and every student.

Singing lessons: what to expect
The best singing lessons near you aren’t just about distance — they’re about a coach who helps you build your voice safely and consistently. Search by location to find in-person singing lessons, or choose online lessons to access specialist vocal coaches for pop, musical theatre, rock, classical, and exam preparation.
Singing lessons are for complete beginners through to experienced performers. Lessons can be tailored for children, teenagers, and adults — whether you’re learning for fun, building confidence, joining a band or choir, or returning to singing after a break.
Most students work on breath control, pitch, tone, range, vocal agility, and song interpretation. A good vocal coach will also help you practise effectively, warm up safely, and build vocal stamina — so you improve without strain.
Online singing lessons can be highly effective for technique, consistency, and flexible scheduling — especially with an experienced coach. In-person lessons can feel more immersive and are great if you prefer face-to-face feedback and hands-on guidance.
A simple learning path for singing
A good teacher will tailor lessons to your goals — but here’s what progress often looks like.
Learn healthy breathing, posture, warm-ups, and simple exercises to improve pitch accuracy and reduce strain while building confidence.
Develop stronger breath support, resonance and tone control, smoother transitions between registers, and start expanding your usable range.
Improve vocal agility, dynamics, phrasing and expression, build stamina for longer songs, and develop performance skills — tailored to your style and goals.
Getting started: what you need
Keep it simple at first — your teacher can help you choose the right setup.
- No kit required: you can start with your voice, a phone recorder, and a quiet room.
- Hydration and warm-ups matter more than volume — good singing is built on consistency, not pushing.
- If learning online: headphones and a stable internet connection make lessons smoother.
