My Mission

Lessons Tailored To You

I began my teaching career after completing an open college network certificate in music facilitation in 2001. I worked for the community music service for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, an award-winning service, as their only vocal coach for the next 19 years. I taught in many local schools and even taught Jessie from Little Mix before she found fame on X Factor. Music and singing are my passion and I enjoy passing on my experience of performing onto my students.

Improve Your Singing Voice with Technique Focus

During my singing lessons here in Bournemouth, I focus on teaching a variety of vocal techniques tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you're a beginner finding your singing voice or an experienced performer looking to refine your skills, there’s something for everyone. As a singing teacher and vocal coach, I take pride in creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students can grow at their own pace.

Breath Control and Support

One of the foundational skills I teach in my vocal lessons is breath control. Proper breath support is essential for a powerful, balanced singing voice and can dramatically improve your tone and stamina. Together, we’ll practice techniques to strengthen your diaphragm and manage breath flow, ensuring you can hit every note with confidence and ease.

Pitch and Tone Development

Finding and staying on pitch is a common challenge for many students. As your singing tutor, I’ll work with you to improve your ear and teach you how to listen to your own voice more effectively. We’ll cover exercises to improve pitch accuracy and achieve a consistent, rich tone.

Vocal Range Expansion

Dream of hitting those high notes effortlessly? Expanding your vocal range is an exciting part of our singing classes. With personalised training sessions, I’ll guide you through safe and effective techniques to stretch your capabilities while protecting your voice.

Song Interpretation and Performance

Singing isn’t just about technique—it’s also about emotion and storytelling. My teaching goes beyond the mechanics to include song interpretation and performance skills. Whether you’re interested in rock, musical theatre, or pop, I’ll help you connect to the music and deliver a performance that feels authentic and professional.

Learn All Genres

Pop & Contemporary Music

If you dream of singing chart-topping hits or want to master the catchy melodies and rhythms of today’s music, pop and contemporary are a fantastic place to start. I’ll guide you through techniques like belting, dynamic control, and vocal stylisation so you can confidently perform your favourite songs or develop your voice within this genre.

Classical & Opera

For those drawn to the timeless beauty of classical music and opera, I provide tailored lessons to hone precision, control, and vocal range. We’ll focus on foundational techniques, breathing practices, and expressiveness that are essential for performing these powerful and emotional genres.

Jazz & Blues

Jazz and blues singing is all about creativity and storytelling. Together, we’ll explore improvisation, phrasing, and tone to bring the emotion and soul behind the music to life. Whether you’re inspired by classic jazz standards or soulful blues ballads, I’ll help you express yourself authentically.

Rock & Alternative

Rock and alternative genres demand energy and edge. If you’re looking to improve your vocal grit, sustain power, or refine your stage presence, these lessons are for you. We’ll work on developing a strong yet flexible voice that can handle the intensity of these exciting pieces.

Musical Theatre

From Broadway classics to modern productions, musical theatre requires a combination of vocal range, acting, and dynamic delivery. I’ll guide you in mastering character-driven songs, perfecting enunciation, and creating an impactful stage performance that captivates your audience.
