Oliver Pikett

Oliver has been playing music for nearly 40 years, and performed his first live gig aged 11. Since those early days, he has gone on to become a prolific guitarist, performer, composer and teacher.

Having started on violin aged 6, Oliver played with orchestras and sang with choirs throughout his school years. Alongside this, he discovered his passion for the guitar, which propelled his love for music forwards.

Oliver achieved a 1st Class Degree (BMus) in Music Performance from the prestigious BIMM Institute, where he specialised in jazz and music education. Here, he studied guitar under John Wheatcroft and Femi Temowo, two world class players and educators.

This led him to work as a professional musician on the live circuit, performing and recording regularly with professional jazz and blues bands Betty & The Bootleggers and The Reelers.

In 2012, he founded original rock band Eureka Station, with whom he toured the UK, played festivals and recorded their debut EP at the famous State of the Ark Studios.

His work as a session musician has found him performing with multiple function bands and artists, as well as his acoustic duo, Tall Tales . In 2015, he performed at London’s O2 Arena with US country singer Sarah Darling.

Based in his Wiltshire studio, Oliver also composes music for Film & Television, and holds a Masters (Distinction) in Music Composition for Film & TV from Bristol University.

Oliver is a member of The Ivors, the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) and the Rockschool Teacher network.

Oliver teaches all styles and levels of guitar and music theory, specialising in blues, rock and jazz.
