About Maria Hernández

Hi, I’m Maria Hernández

A singer, songwriter, and vocal coach from Spain, I started touring as a professional singer at just 16, although my journey with music began much earlier. At 14, I won The English Key Prize on Cantamania (Salou, TV3). Since then, I have trained extensively in different disciplines: Jazz and Blues at Aula de Música (Liceu, Barcelona), Classical Music at the Conservatoire of Tarragona, and Musical Theatre at Acción-Escena School of Actors in Madrid. I later earned a BA in Creative Musicianship from BIMM London. As an artist, I have performed at festivals and venues across Europe and the USA, and I continue to release new music. My work has been recognised internationally, with nominations at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (2022) and the Hollywood Independent Music Awards (2024).

My teaching career began early, when I started teaching singing, piano, and music theory and I haven’t stopped since. With over 18 years of experience, I now coach children, teenagers, and adults of all levels, from complete beginners discovering their voice to advanced and professional singers. I support my students in preparing for concerts, auditions, recordings, scholarships, and exams.

Some of my VIP clients have included world-renowned artist Cher, Anu Badmus (former Nala in The Lion King musical), and Valentina Pinault (daughter of Salma Hayek). I have also supported emerging artists such as Alessia, Ina Shai, Heavn, and Mia.

In my lessons, I focus not only on vocal technique, but also on breathing, vocal tract awareness, stage presence, performance, songwriting, music theory, and building self-confidence. I have worked with both professional singers and students with vocal pathologies, and I have seen how transformative the right vocal training can be.

I teach using a blend of IVA and Voice Craft techniques, combined with my experience as a performer and a holistic approach when needed. I always encourage my students to feel safe, supported, and free to explore their voice.

For me, singing is about more than hitting the right notes. It’s about expression, emotion, and truly enjoying the journey.

Get 10% when you buy a 12-Week Package Why Choose a 12-Week Package? Real vocal progress doesn’t happen in one lesson. It comes from consistent practice, regular feedback, and time to let new habits settle. A 12-week package gives you the space to do exactly that. Save money Every lesson costs less than the single price, so you save £50-£120 depending on your session length. See real results Twelve weeks is long enough to build solid technique, gain control, and notice a clear difference in your voice, whether you’re a beginner or preparing for a performance. A plan built around you With a regular schedule, we can work towards a clear goal: an exam, an audition, a recording, or simply singing with more confidence. Each lesson builds on the last. Stay consistent Having your lessons booked in advance makes it easier to keep going, which is how singers really improve.
