About

About

My name is Josh, I’ve been writing music for 10 years and producing for four. I grew up in Nottingham, surrounded by music, seeing the likes of Jake Bugg, Saint Raymond and more blow up throughout the city. I started cutting my teeth playing shows at venues such as Rescue Rooms, Bodega and the prestigious Rock City.

With the help of my first manager, I was able to visit major record labels in London to meet with A&Rs and writing with big producers. I found myself enjoying the behind-the-scenes work more than writing for myself and started writing songs with artists and other songwriters/producers. Placing myself in a wide-variety of genres, I’ve worked on Pop (UK, US, Scandinavia pitches), K-Pop, library music and much more.

I currently release, produce and write songs for artists and my own project under the moniker GLVS (glas). I have songs with artists on Interscope (Universal USA) and Virgin EMI (Universal UK) and others coming soon. I am represented by Saulty Dog Management, owned by Mike Sault formerly of Warner Chappell Music Publishing. Sault is responsible for music from One Direction, Paloma Faith, The Vamps, Sigala, MNEK and more, having shaped the careers of many artists and songwriters.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

I’m proud to have had many opportunities to perform live, including prestigious venues like Rock City in Nottingham and festivals such as Dot2Dot and Splendour Festival; opening the stage for Billy Ocean.

I have also been fortunate enough to work with great songwriters/producers, like Rob Milton (Holly Humberstone, Easy Life), Jimmy Hogarth (Tom Grennan, James Blunt), Martin Brammer (James Morrison, The Lighthouse Family) and more. I’m excited to have some upcoming releases on major labels, including one with Clarence Coffee Jr (co-writer of Dua Lipa’s Physical, Levitating and Love Again on her 2020 album ‘Future Nostalgia’).

I have a BTEC in Music Technology from Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies.
