I’m an enthusiastic and well-established guitar tutor with over ten years of experience. I have taught people from the ages of 5 to 75 and am available to any student, although I mostly teach young beginners. I have taught in three different established music schools as well as having many private students over the years. This has allowed me to really hone my abilities as a tutor and develop the early stages of learning guitar into a streamlined but enjoyable process. I know that results are important in order to keep a student engaged and to provide value for money so I like to get my students up and running straight away. I take a practical approach to teach guitar and encourage students to advance by learning songs they are familiar with and explaining the musical ideas behind them rather than weighing them down early on with theory and repetitive playing. This is a method that works particularly well with children in my experience – I believe it to be the right balance of fun and education. I can teach acoustic, electric and bass guitar from beginner to intermediate ability and I take great pleasure in doing so. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I’m also happy to teach keyboard/piano and ukulele at the beginner level. As a career musician, I compose music and play in a band alongside my tutoring. I’ve written music that has appeared on all the major UK TV channels and I play about 75 gigs a year ranging from weddings to professional corporate functions. I’ve also written educational material for a degree course on composition and arrangement. I’d like to think that the fact that I live and breathe music in this way gives me certain credibility as a guitar tutor and is a reflection of my enthusiasm for the instrument. An experienced guitar teacher, with over 20 years in teaching electric and acoustic guitar. I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years, with over 25 years experience in bands, writing and producing singles and albums, directing music groups, session and theatre work. I have played rock, funk, blues, jazz, pop, folk and classical guitar. I play and teach rock, pop, jazz, fusion, folk, classical and occasionally bass. Teaching statement: If you are a beginner then I like to get you playing and having fun as soon as possible. At the same time you will start learning the right techniques to progress and improve. The main aim in my teaching is to find out what works for you, what you want to learn and what your goals are. Once you have progressed from beginner level we can work harder on theory and technique. If you want to work towards ABRSM, Trinity or any other type of qualification we will work together to help you succeed. Experience: I have been playing and performing guitar for over 20 years and teaching since 2001. I specialised in composition at University and studied guitar with Tom Kerstens (classical) and Eric Roche (acoustic). I currently compose for classical/acoustic guitar and electro-acoustic media. I have also composed for short films and dance. As a teacher I have taught private one-to-one lessons and in schools around Bath and London. Currently I am teaching one to one and at 3 schools in the borough of Newham, years 5 - 7. As part of the Bath International Guitar Foundation (IGF) Outreach programme I taught in secondary schools and for disabled students. In the lessons I covered beginner's guitar and songwriting skills. As part of my teaching practice I also teach guitar grades from ABRSM and Trinity college classical guitar syllabus, Rockschool's electric guitar and RGT's (Registry of Guitar Tutor's) acoustic guitar. Nora Bee is a guitar teacher based in London with 25 years of experience in teaching. Passionate about teaching and patient! Currently more so specialising in intermediate and advanced guitar. ( With Interest in improvisation, composing, fretboard fluency, jazz and music theory, chord melody arranging and more.) Great with adapting for each individual students needs and wants. Over 25 years she have been teaching guitar for all ages and all levels, electric, classical and acoustic guitars. She is great with kids as well as adults – applying her teaching style and adapting to each individual student. Currently majority of her students are adults. Many of current and past students of hers are studying grade exam books for classical guitar as well as rock guitar. Equally great at teaching hobbyist students, making lessons fun and enjoyable as well as always gently pushing to improve to the next level. Nora also have been a gigging guitarist for 25 years , and has been a part of 100+ bands and projects in Latvia, the UK, Portugal, Italy, Boston (USA), Spain, Belgium, Egypt, Lithuania and Estonia, and has taught 200+ guitar students over many years in London, UK, Latvia and internationally over Zoom ( or Skype/Facetime). Past teaching experiences include working as a guitar mentor for a few years at USA based intensive online guitar school for intermediate players – Guitar Mastery Intensive ( Learn with Sonora) . Currently a guest lecturer. As a gigging musician one of the many artists Nora has had the opportunity to share the stage with was the great, late Amy Winehouse. Before moving to London, back in Latvia was also giving regular guitar workshops in ”Madona Guitar sessions”, that happens once a year in the Latvian town Madona. She is always curious about exploring new styles of music. Nora is comfortable with many different guitar techniques and Musical styles including jazz standards (swing), bebop, fusion, modern jazz, Bossa nova, latin music, flamenco (in the beginning of her musical career), blues, funk, soul, classical guitar, finger style chord melody, African guitar, avant-garde, jazz comping in duos (combining walking bass lines with chords) and bass guitar. Nora has played in most of the important jazz clubs in London, such as “Ronnie Scotts”, “Vortex”, “606”, “Charlie Wrights” and others together with various artists and as well as a leader of multiple jazz projects. Before moving to London, back in Latvia she was leading her modern jazz quartet, and playing in many other projects, including big bands, as well as being part of international jazz concert management organisations. Music Qualifications & Achievements: Studied jazz guitar at Riga Dom Choir School (2004), have taken many private lessons with teachers based in London and occasional lessons with visiting guitarists ( from NYC), as well as few lessons online. Nora took part in Berklee summer school in Italy, Perugia (2008) , where she was studying with Berklee guitar professor Jon Damian ), as well as Jerry Bergonzi one week long summer workshop in Spain, Cadiz ( 2007).

Advanced Growth: For Grades 2–8, I incorporate 3–6 month "development phases" between exams to ensure your skills are deep, not just rehearsed.
