I have been playing in Cambridgeshire bands and teaching guitar and bass professionally since 1994, as an intuitively experienced guitarist & bassist and a skilled confident teacher, I have been able to successfully coach literally hundreds of keen & aspiring guitarists and bass players in the last 29 years. From the age of 7 years, old I always had a love and passion for music and has been playing live and recording with numerous bands since I was 16. Passing on his wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm through my tutoring has been a vastly rewarding and ongoing goal. Alongside my private guitar teaching, I remain a very active musician. I currently play bass for the alternative Indie band The Contrast, who are with Steven Van Zandt’s New York City record label WickedCool and Angel Air Records here in the UK. I am a professional guitar teacher with over 18 years experience. I teach electric or acoustic guitar, as well as bass and ukulele. Beginners or more advanced players welcome. I have worked in the music industry all my professional life, having previously managed a busy local music shop. I have over 30 years live/studio experience. I teach in a dedicated music/teaching room at my home. I hold an advanced DBS certificate, am a member of both the Musician's Union & The Registry of Guitar Tutors, and have Public Liability and Indemnity insurance. I am guitarist/vocalist in The Empty Pages, a blues/folk/country recording project, and Lives On Hold, a rock recording project. I have played in several popular party/function covers bands and have extensive experience in gigging, rehearsing, song arranging, sound engineering and recording. From 2006-2014 I played rhythm guitar, keyboards and sang backing vocals in The Contrast, signed to New York labels Rainbow Quartz and Wicked Cool Records. Lessons are tailored to suit the individual - learn the songs you want to play, with all the necessary theory as you go along. Rockschool Grades if requested. GCSE & A-level syllabus help & advice. Advice on guitars, amps, effects as well as forming a band, rehearsals and gigs.
