Lessons Tailored To You
Marco is a multi-instrumental musician and producer specialized in electric bass based in London. He approaches music at the age of 9 through Break Dance with which for 8 years he toured Italy and various European cities together with a dance company based in Rome. It is thanks to Dance that Marco has developed a not indifferent sense of rhythm, but above all, he has had the opportunity to know, listen to and meet musicians and artists of all kinds who have inspired him to get even closer to music.

Apply Music Theory to Your Playing
When I first started learning to play bass guitar, I quickly realised how important music theory is. It’s more than just rules—it’s the foundation that helps us understand music on a deeper level and bring it all together when we play. Whether you’re taking private music lessons with a knowledgeable music tutor or exploring music tuition through online lessons, music theory equips you with the tools to unlock your creativity and truly enjoy your instrument.
Why Music Theory Matters for Bass
For beginners and experienced players alike, music theory opens up new ways to approach the bass guitar. It teaches you how to build and understand chords and scales, which are essential for crafting basslines that stand out, whether you’re playing with acoustic guitar, drums, piano, or even in a full band setup. With the guidance of professional music teachers, learning these fundamentals becomes approachable and fun!
How Music Theory Is Used in Real Playing
Applying music theory to your playing isn’t just about memorising concepts—it’s about making the music you love. For example, understanding rhythms, keys, and harmony lets you adapt quickly when playing with others in a variety of settings like private lessons or group rehearsals. It also helps when you’re learning other instruments, such as keyboard or viola, since theory provides a universal language across musical styles.
Adding Theory to Your Lessons
At our music lessons in Edgware, we focus on blending theory with practice to make sure you get the most out of every session. When I teach, I always tailor lessons for students of all ages and abilities in a variety of styles. Whether you’re preparing for more specialised interests like music production or just want to add some flair to your beginner bass playing, we make sure the learning process is engaging and rewarding.
Music theory may sound intimidating at first, but trust me—it’s one of the most valuable tools you’ll have as a musician. And with the help of our Edgware tutors or online music teachers, you’ll see just how exciting and empowering it can be! Whether you’re picking up the bass guitar, drums, viola, or even preparing for singing lessons or dance world performances, adding music theory to your practice will transform the way you learn and play.
High Quality Music Education for What You Love
When it comes to learning the bass, the options for genres and styles are practically endless. I always tell my students that the beauty of the bass is in its versatility—it’s an instrument that fits seamlessly into so many types of music. Whether you’re a fan of groovy funk lines or the driving rhythms of rock and blues, bass lessons can be tailored to explore the music you truly love.
Learning Beyond the Basics
What I love about bass lessons is how closely they connect to other instruments and styles. For instance, if you’re into jazz, your teachers might guide you to learn intricate rhythm section work, which ties directly to instruments like drums or piano. If singing is your thing, we can even incorporate bass and voice arrangements—there’s no limit to how creative your lessons can be! Plus, for those inspired by orchestral or classical music, exploring crossover approaches with instruments like the violin or saxophone can add a whole new dynamic to your learning.
Genres We Cover
From modern pop hits to classic Motown grooves, the bass underpins the heartbeat of every genre. Our music lessons in London focus on everything from hip-hop and funk to reggae, metal, and even styles like folk or Latin rhythms. With our experienced bass teachers leading the way, you’ll gain the skills you need while exploring your favourite sounds. And if you decide to branch out, we have more teachers who specialise in a variety of instruments to support a holistic learning experience.

I believe that learning the bass should be an enjoyable and personalised experience, no matter how old you are or where you're starting from. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up the bass for the first time or an experienced player looking to refine your skills, I can tailor lessons to suit your goals, pace, and musical preferences.
