About Thaddeus Arndt

I teach piano, guitar, bass, songwriting, music theory, Ableton, Logic Pro, recording, and music production for kids, adults, beginners, returning musicians, songwriters, and producers. My lessons are practical, creative, and built around the music each student actually cares about.

I believe students stay motivated when they can hear themselves creating real music early. Instead of starting with months of disconnected drills, I help students build useful musical skills through songs, chords, rhythm, ear training, technique, creativity, and practical theory. Fundamentals still matter, but they work best when students can understand why they matter and use them right away.

A typical lesson includes a clear goal, focused technique or musicianship work, a song or creative project, and a simple practice plan for the week. For piano, guitar, and bass students, that can mean learning chords, rhythm, reading, ear skills, improvisation, and songs they care about. For songwriters and producers, lessons can also include arranging, recording, MIDI, Ableton, Logic Pro, DAW workflow, and finishing music.

Kids get lessons designed to hold attention and build confidence. Adult beginners get a calm, low-pressure path into music. Returning musicians get help reconnecting with music without shame or overwhelm. Creative students get support turning ideas into complete songs, recordings, and performances.

I am based in Los Angeles and offer online lessons as well as in-person lessons by arrangement. The first step is usually a short online conversation to understand the student’s goals, experience level, and best lesson format.
