About Paul Harris

I am a Professional Musician with over 50yrs playing experience in a variety of genres from Pop & Rock, to Funk, Jazz and crossover. I have experience with recording and releasing original material as well as working as a session musician since the ’80s. I also have extensive experience playing in live bands in most settings from small “Pub Gigs” and larger Night Clubs up to more formal Concert Halls and Open Air Festivals. I have been the Musical Director for several Corporate Entertainment Events in Las Vegas (MGM Grand and Venetian Hotel’s) and in Anaheim, CA (DisneyLand).

For teaching, I have created a fully air-conditioned, acoustically treated and sound-proofed studio to enable practice in comfort. I also have the ability to record/edit with professional quality in order to enhance the learning experience of my students, and I am happy to tailor lessons to suit agreed ambitions and interests.

I have discovered that careful choice of practice routines can result in more rapid improvement. Where possible I have used my experience to develop and adapt practice routines which combine 2 or 3 goals into one routine.

My goal is to help my students to love playing the saxophone to the point they want it to be part of their daily routine, as it has been part of mine for the past 50yrs.

I am a big fan of a goal-orientated approach to progress, so encourage students to work with me to set Monthly Goals which are challenging, but achievable. You don’t learn anything by practicing something you can already do!
