About Nick Mackey
I write articles for the Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Society magazine, and have over 30 years of teaching experience. For many years I was Lead Tutor for Rock & Pop Development with the Blackburn with Darwen Music Service. This involved working with teachers covering over 900 pupils in Primary, Secondary & 6th Form colleges, to develop the learning of all styles of rock & pop instruments. I also wrote the complete Internal Award Exam Syllabus for Guitar & Bass for the Borough, and developed the Music Ambassadors.
I have three books of Classical guitar compositions published by CORDA music, and have a composition included in an exam Syllabus. My teaching has been Quality Assured through the Blackburn with Darwen Music Hub, and I hold the enhanced DBS clearance.
I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, have passed the University of West London Child Protection Course and the HM Government PREVENT training.
