About

About

Gary Heyes is an experienced, professional guitar tutor and multi-instrumentalist and has successfully taught many students over a number of years. Starting from the age of 11 Gary has been playing guitar, keyboards, bass and drums in various bands and in the studio. His first love has always been the guitar and in 2009 he gave up an established career as a lawyer to pursue his ambition to become a full-time guitar teacher.

Gary also currently teaches guitar at both primary and secondary schools. He is, therefore fully DBS (formerly CRB) checked.

Gary has extensive experience teaching children of all ages and is particularly patient and encouraging with beginners, children and adults alike. He covers most areas of music including pop, rock, funk, metal and indie. His teaching is based on learning to play the type of music his students want to play. “If my students want to learn Justin Bieber songs, then that is what I will teach them, or if they prefer death metal or Argentinian sea shanties, then that’s what we’ll do” says Gary.

Gary will travel to students homes if required or deliver lessons from his dedicated home studio.

“Gary has been teaching me guitar for 4 years and during that time I have learned to play lots of rock, pop and indie songs. I have also developed an interest in the folk and acoustic genre and Gary has helped me to play in these styles too”
