Faye Mayer

Hi, my name is Faye! I’m a young clarinet specialist studying performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music. I have a Diploma with Distinction in clarinet performance and Grade 8 qualifications in 4 different musical disciplines, so I’m well equipped to coach my students through exams and grades in performance or music theory. I also have a lot of orchestral experience, including playing with NYO (British National Youth Orchestra), The European Union Chamber Orchestra, so I can provide my students with all the best advice and tools to prepare themselves for auditions, solos, and recitals. As a clarinettist and saxophonist, I have a strong training background in both classical and jazz playing, meaning you can explore a range of genres in our lessons, and I can tailor my teaching towards whichever style of playing you enjoy. Studying at music conservatoire, I’ve been taught by many extraordinary professional musicians, and I’ve learned that the best teachers provide not only knowledge and technique, but create positive, friendly learning environments. My goal is to make learning the clarinet a fun and encouraging experience, so that my students can feel safe to make all the squeaks, wrong notes, and ‘mistakes’ that it takes to grow as a musician.
