Dan Gay, LRSL – Percussion Educator / RSL Awards International Examiner.

Dan became become an examiner for RSL Rock school in 2002. Dan examines Internationally and has travelled worldwide to many countries that RSL exams are recognised in. Dan also teachers in 3 local High schools in great Yarmouth as a peripatetic music teacher.

Most lately Dan has added FaceTime lessons, exam prep and consultation and continuing to push forward in all areas of popular music education.

Background: After high school Dan continued to study music at the College of Dupage, while gigging extensively and doing session recording work. In 1988 Dan moved to London and performed 100s of gigs with many bands and performed on several recordings over the next few years. He earned Endorsements with Zilijian cymbals, Bear Percussion, DM custom Drums, and Pro-mark Drumsticks and Evans Drumheads.

Dans first music shop was opened in 1998, a small music equipment retail outlet. He started teaching privately as well as in two local high schools. Within 2 years Dan expanded the teaching and now performs drumming Clinics for the Norfolk county council.

In 2002 DansMusic moved into a much larger premises and expanded his teaching practice with lessons on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals. Incorporating a state of the art Pro Tools recording studio.

Other than music, Dans other passion is aviation. He’s a display pilot and owns a Long Ez aircraft, that can be seen flying in airshows in the uk.

Qualifications:

LRSL Teaching Diploma with Disinction.

Associate of Arts (music degree USA),

Grade 8 drums with Distinction.

RSL Awards International Examiner (23 Years).

Percussive Arts society. PAS Award for education excellence.
