As a tutor, I strive to develop a students passion and creativity in whatever their goals may be. My approach to teaching is to teach the student the fundamental language of rhythm, drumming and music, and how to apply this creatively in any way they see fit.  This means you'll not only learn what you want to learn, but you'll find you understand what you hear in music, and be able to figure things out for yourself. I have achieved a BA Hons in Music Performance and an MA in Creative Practice, which focused on the neurology, biology and physiology of drumming, and its effects on the body, brain and mind. This has influenced my teaching style to a degree that allows me to really delve deep into technique, posture, learning methods and easy practice hacks to make your life as a musician much easier. I have a wealth of knowledge from travelling and working within the music industry, having recorded in some legendary locations such as Sun Studios in Memphis, teaching at the Stax Music Academy, and touring across Europe as both a technician and performer. I have performed in a wide variety of settings from live performances, recordings, videos and musical theatre. If grading is your goal, I teach the Trinity grade syllabus to grade 8, and I am a registered digital exam centre, so everything can be done in house from learning to recording and submitting.
