About

As The Robin Sings is founded and led by Tolu Abaga, a Nigerian vocal coach, performer, and music educator with over 11 years of professional experience in vocal training, performance coaching, and artist development. Built on depth, credibility, and a genuine love for the voice, As The Robin Sings has grown into a trusted vocal training brand serving both Nigerian and international students through in-person and online lessons.
Established 11 years ago, As The Robin Sings was created to provide singers with structured, practical, and healthy vocal training that produces real results.

Tolu Abaga holds a Mmus in Popular Music and Performance awarded by the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), a globally recognised music institution. This academic background is paired with extensive teaching and performance experience, creating a balanced approach that blends solid vocal technique with real-world artistry.

For 9 years, Tolu Abaga taught voice at the University of Jos, Nigeria, working with students across varying skill levels and musical backgrounds. During this time, singers were trained in vocal technique, breath control, tone production, performance preparation, and musical expression. In addition to university teaching, As The Robin Sings has provided 11 years of private vocal coaching, both in Nigeria and online, helping singers build confident, reliable, and expressive voices.

Professional qualifications include RSL Awards Grade 3 Piano, as well as Grade 7 and Grade 8 RSL Performance Certificates in Vocals, reflecting a strong foundation in musicianship and high-level vocal performance. Performance experience spans multiple international and local stages, including Glasgow, London, Riga, Abuja, Lagos, and Plateau State, offering students exposure to global performance standards and professional expectations.

Tolu Abaga has also worked as a background vocalist for prominent Nigerian artists Jesse Jagz and MI Abaga, gaining valuable insight into studio recording, live performance, and professional artist environments. In 2010, Tolu Abaga won a category at the Riga Symphony Orchestra competition in Latvia, and later served as a jury member in 2015 for the same orchestra. Additional jury experience includes assessing students at Panam College of Music, Jos, Plateau State, further reinforcing a strong reputation for musical excellence and fair evaluation.

Today, As The Robin Sings offers a wide range of vocal coaching services, digital vocal courses, and training packages tailored to fit different budgets, goals, and vocal needs. Specialised programmes include breath management and vocal dynamics, designed to help singers develop control, stamina, and expressive range. Every student receives take-home exercises tailored to their individual voice, alongside real-time coaching and feedback to ensure steady progress.

The studio is especially known for artist-level vocal training and performance coaching, supporting singers, recording artists, worship leaders, and performers who want to sing with confidence, consistency, and freedom. Whether working with beginners or advanced vocalists, the focus remains on healthy technique, vocal longevity, and authentic expression.

As The Robin Sings represents professionalism, warmth, and results-driven vocal education. With over a decade of experience, international exposure, and a deep understanding of the singing voice, students receive world-class vocal coaching designed to help them grow, perform, and thrive wherever they are in the world.
