About me

I’m a professional drum teacher with 20 years’ teaching experience, having taught both privately and in schools since 2006. I teach students of all abilities, from complete beginners aged 8+ through to advanced players, with lessons individually tailored to suit each student’s ability, musical interests and goals.

I teach all genres and styles of music, and I believe learning an instrument should be enjoyable as well as rewarding. Whether you’ve never picked up a pair of drumsticks before, want to improve your technique, learn to play your favourite songs, or work towards recognised drum grades, lessons can be shaped around what you want to achieve.

For students wishing to take graded examinations, I have a 100% pass rate across all of my students’ grade exam entries. However, taking grades is completely optional — I’m equally happy teaching students who simply want to learn to play drums for enjoyment.

My lessons cover areas including technique, timing, coordination, reading, musicality and playing along with music, with the emphasis adapted to the individual student. I aim to create a relaxed, friendly environment where students can progress at their own pace and build confidence behind the kit.

I hold a full Enhanced DBS certificate and have extensive experience teaching both children and adults.
