Hello! I’m Paul Prem Sagar, a passionate Guitar Teacher and Musician with over 10 years of experience in guitar teaching, performing, songwriting, composition, and contemporary music. I enjoy helping students discover their musical abilities and making guitar learning enjoyable, practical, and structured.

I teach guitar and contemporary music to children, teenagers, and adults, working with students at beginner, intermediate, and graded levels. Over the years, I have taught students through both online and offline learning environments, including one-on-one and group classes. I believe that every student learns differently, so I try to understand their goals, interests, learning style, and current level before building lessons around them.

I am a Trinity College London-certified teacher and have extensive experience preparing students for Trinity and RSL Rockschool grade examinations. I have experience teaching the RSL Rockschool syllabus, helping students develop their playing skills, prepare their repertoire, understand the requirements of graded examinations, and build confidence as performers.

My lessons can include guitar technique, chords, scales, rhythm, music reading, music theory, ear training, repertoire, improvisation, and performance preparation. For students interested in graded examinations, I provide a structured approach based on their level and goals while making sure they develop practical musicianship rather than simply preparing for an exam.

I also have several years of experience teaching guitar online. I worked as a Guitar Teacher with WhiteHat Jr, teaching a structured guitar curriculum to beginner and intermediate learners, and was recognized as a Mastery Level Guitar Teacher. I currently teach through online platforms, including Learner Circle, where I teach the Trinity syllabus to children and adults at different levels. I also work with Bangalore Global Music Academy, conducting individual and group lessons in guitar and contemporary music and preparing students for Trinity and Rockschool examinations.

My musical experience also comes from being an active performing musician. Since 2015, I have been playing guitar with a Christian band in Hyderabad and have over 10 years of live performance experience, including concerts and church events. This experience has helped me develop practical knowledge of performing, playing with other musicians, songwriting, composition, arranging, and preparing music for live settings.

One thing I particularly enjoy is helping students move beyond simply memorizing chords or songs. I want students to understand why the music works, develop good technique, improve their timing and rhythm, and become confident enough to play independently.

For beginners, I focus on making the first steps comfortable and encouraging. We can work on basic guitar technique, chords, rhythm, simple songs, and gradually build confidence.

For intermediate students, we can go deeper into technique, scales, chord progressions, music theory, ear training, repertoire, improvisation, and performance skills.

For students preparing for Trinity or RSL Rockschool examinations, I can provide structured lessons based on the relevant syllabus and help students prepare their pieces, technical skills, theory, rhythm, and overall performance.

I also welcome adult learners who may be starting guitar for the first time or returning to music after a break. Lessons can be adapted around your personal goals, interests, and available practice time.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, interactive, and goal-oriented. I believe learning music should be challenging enough to create progress but enjoyable enough to keep students motivated.
