About Philip Saunders

I’ve been teaching guitar & bass for over fifteen years (playing over thirty), and over that time I’ve developed a fun, progressive and informative syllabus with a really wide range of lessons and courses to suit all abilities, ages and musical interests. I use the brilliant, accredited Rockschool curriculum as a template from which I am able to teach whatever style, or artist the student is most interested in. I have built a great collection of written guitar music, and have reference to over 1500 iconic guitar tunes from all genres to showcase the styles, sounds and techniques which make up the modern guitar canon. In addition, I also have a good library of music books concentrating on the specifics of certain playing techniques, rhythm styles, chord vocabulary, fretboard knowledge, music theory, how to read, etc. These are great resources for someone who maybe already plays and wants to expand their musical knowledge in a specific area. I frequently refer to these to give context to whatever tunes are being learnt, and for further study.

Qualifications:

Grade 8, Electric Guitar
