About Parth Chaturvedi
I am an Indian classical tabla performer and teacher with over 12 years of performance experience and a deep passion for preserving and sharing the rich tradition of Hindustani classical music. I am currently pursuing a Master of Music (Tabla) at the Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), one of India’s most prestigious institutions for classical music. My musical journey has been shaped under the guidance of the esteemed maestros Pandit Prabhash Maharaj and Pandit Shubh Maharaj, whose mentorship has helped me develop a strong foundation in the Banaras Gharana and a profound respect for the art of tabla.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of performing at renowned cultural and musical events, including Subah-e-Banaras, Kashi Vandan, Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, and Kala Utsav. These experiences have enriched my understanding of performance, accompaniment, and the expressive depth of Indian classical rhythm, which I strive to pass on to every student I teach.
As a teacher, I believe that learning music should be both disciplined and enjoyable. Every student has unique goals, learning styles, and musical interests, so I tailor each lesson to suit individual needs. Whether you are a complete beginner taking your first steps in rhythm, an intermediate student looking to improve technique, or an advanced learner seeking deeper knowledge of the tabla tradition, I provide structured, engaging, and supportive lessons that encourage steady progress.
My teaching covers all essential aspects of tabla, including correct posture, hand positioning, clarity of bols, taal, laya, layakari, kaidas, relas, gats, tukdas, chakradars, tihais, improvisation, and accompaniment for vocal and instrumental music. Alongside practical training, I also explain the theoretical concepts and cultural heritage behind Indian classical music, enabling students to appreciate not only how to play but also why the music is performed in a particular way.
I welcome students of all ages and backgrounds from anywhere in the world. My online lessons are interactive, well-structured, and conducted in a friendly environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and grow with confidence. I provide personalized practice plans, regular feedback, and techniques to help students build consistency and achieve their musical goals.
Whether your aim is to learn tabla as a hobby, prepare for performances, accompany singers or instrumentalists, appear for music examinations, or simply connect with the rich heritage of Indian classical music, I am committed to helping you succeed. My goal is not only to teach compositions but also to inspire a lifelong appreciation for rhythm, discipline, creativity, and the timeless beauty of the tabla.
I look forward to welcoming you to my class and being a part of your musical journey.
