Nick Shelley

With over 15 years of teaching experience and more than two decades of performing on stage, I offer a student-focused approach to learning guitar and bass. My goal is to make lessons engaging and inspiring by teaching you the music you love, whether you’re into rock, indie, jazz, blues, or any other genre. I specialise in electric, acoustic, and bass guitar, and I work with students at all levels, from beginners to advanced musicians.

I hold Grade 8 certifications in electric, acoustic, and bass guitar, along with formal teacher training. I’m well-versed in all major grading syllabuses, including RGT, Rockschool and Trinity, but I’m passionate about tailoring lessons to your unique interests and goals. Whether you want to master your favourite songs, develop your technique, or dive deep into music theory, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

In addition to playing, I draw on my extensive experience in performing and recording to provide valuable insights into the music industry. A number of my students have gone on to work and perform professionally, which I consider a testament to my teaching methods.
