About Nataliia Smishchenko

I am Nataliia Smishchenko, a professional harpist, harp teacher and music educator with more than 20 years of teaching and performing experience. I teach children and adults, complete beginners and continuing students, in Bucharest and online worldwide. My lessons focus on healthy hand position, beautiful sound, confident technique, musicality, reading skills and the joy of playing the harp.

I hold a Master of Arts in Music Performance and Musical Pedagogy from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, graduated from Glier Music College in Music Performance and Music Pedagogy, and also trained as a specialist in psychology. This combination helps me adapt lessons to each student, including sensitive work with young learners and students who need a calm, supportive approach.

As a performer, I have played in theatre, orchestra, chamber ensembles and music school settings, and have performed at the European Parliament, European Commission and Brussels City Hall. I bring this professional stage and ensemble experience into lessons, so students learn not only notes, but posture, phrasing, listening, confidence and artistic expression.

You can study with me in English, Ukrainian or Russian. Lessons are available in person in Bucharest or online from any country. Examples of my playing are available here: https://www.tiktok.com/@harpia.school
