About Mohsen KamranJam

Electric Guitar Teacher | Composer | RSL Rockschool Specialist

I am an electric guitar teacher, composer, and performing musician with more than 20 years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of different ages and skill levels, helping them develop strong technical skills, musical understanding, creativity, and confidence as performers.

My teaching system is based on the Rockschool (RSL) methodology. Every student begins with a placement assessment to determine their current level and learning goals. I guide students through the complete Rockschool syllabus, from Debut Grade to Grade 8, providing structured lessons and personalized support throughout their learning journey. I also help students prepare for RSL examinations and obtain internationally recognized qualifications.

As an active member of RSL Iran for more than two years, I stay connected with current educational standards and examination requirements. My professional background also includes studio recording and live performance experience in rock, blues, and pop music.

Beyond technical training, I place a strong emphasis on improvisation. I believe that learning guitar is not only about playing written material but also about developing creativity and self-expression. Students learn how to improvise, create musical phrases, understand harmony, and develop their own musical voice.

One of the most important parts of my teaching program is ensemble and band training. After students complete their initial technical foundation, they are organized into small bands consisting of five to six musicians. These groups rehearse together on a weekly basis under my supervision.

During these sessions, students perform famous songs from various genres, including rock, blues, metal, and pop. They also participate in guided improvisation exercises, collaborative music-making activities, and practical performance training. In addition, I teach music styles and genres, helping students understand the historical and musical characteristics of different forms of music.

Ear training and active listening are also essential parts of my lessons. Students regularly listen to and analyze songs together, learning how professional musicians construct melodies, rhythms, arrangements, and performances. These activities help them become more complete and knowledgeable musicians.

To provide real-world performance experience, student concerts are organized every few months. These events give students the opportunity to perform on stage, work as part of a band, build confidence, and experience the excitement and responsibility of live performance.

Students who demonstrate a strong interest and talent in composition are invited to participate in specialized group songwriting and composition workshops. In these sessions, they learn how to develop original musical ideas, write songs, arrange music, and refine their creative skills in a collaborative environment.

My goal is not simply to teach guitar techniques, but to help students become complete musicians who can perform, improvise, collaborate, create original music, and enjoy a lifelong connection with music.
