Marie Black

Hello. My name is Marie Black. I am a certified Transformational Voice Teacher and I am glad you found me. I love helping folks find their authentic voices. I’ve been singing for much of my life and can say that the feeling that happens when I’m singing freely is like nothing else. It’s like soaring into the great wide open and being able to touch the sky. I can help you find that place in your voice, where you sing more freely than you ever have. It is a journey to be sure. Whether you are a beginning traveler or further along, I will use the knowledge I have gained along my journey to help you reach your vocal goals. The methodology for which I’m certified is classically based and is applied to all genres of music. Having an authentic voice means that you develop flexibility, range, forward focus, versatility and musicality through a range of exercises, or vocalease, plus working on a variety of different material.

I also teach beginning to intermediate guitar. I use the Hal Leonard books currently and find them efficient at helping students grasp all the important details. I can help you develop healthy, ergonomic habits and how to make your guitar sing. I am a performing and recording songwriter. I can help you put it all together. I am more a rhythm player and can help you develop masterful skills that will lead to a lifetime of enjoyment.
