About Minseo Lee

Hi, I am currently completing a Master of Performance Teaching at the University of Melbourne. I graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS), where I specialised in piano performance and developed a strong technical and musical foundation. Throughout my university studies, I was awarded a number of scholarships in recognition of my dedication and achievements, and I completed my studies with honours.

As an active musician, I have participated in a range of piano competitions and performances, which have significantly shaped my skills in musical interpretation, stage presence, and performance preparation. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the discipline and confidence required for both examinations and live performance settings. I bring this knowledge directly into my teaching, where I guide students through exam preparation (including AMEB and ABRSM) as well as competition readiness, helping them perform at their best with both technical assurance and expressive depth.

I have several years of teaching experience, including working within a high school environment, where I have taught students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. This has allowed me to develop a flexible and student-centred teaching approach. I strongly believe that every student learns differently, and I tailor each lesson to suit the individual’s needs, goals, and learning style. Whether a student is learning for personal enjoyment, preparing for graded exams, or aiming to participate in competitions, I provide structured guidance while fostering creativity and musical curiosity.

In my teaching, I place a strong emphasis on building solid technical foundations, including posture, hand technique, tone production, and articulation, while also encouraging expressive playing and musical understanding. I aim to help students not only play accurately, but also develop confidence, independence, and a genuine connection to the music they perform. I strive to create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable to explore, make progress, and enjoy their musical journey.

I welcome students of all ages and levels, from beginners to more advanced players. I am committed to supporting each student in achieving their personal goals, whether big or small, and helping them develop a lifelong appreciation for music. I also offer flexibility in lesson arrangements and am willing to travel to students’ homes, providing convenient and accessible piano lessons tailored to individual needs.
