About Medini Sriram

Medini Sriram is a Singing Teacher and Vocal Coach who teaches Singing, Music Theory and Gender Affirming Vocal Coaching Online Globally. A musician and teacher with over a decade of experience, she is a registered Vocal Process Teacher, having completed the Vocal Process Accreditation Programme under the mentorship of Dr Gillyanne Kayes, Jeremy Fisher and Anne Leatherland. She is also the Secretary of the Board of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) International – India Chapter.
She is the founder of the Medini Sriram Music Studio – an online voice teaching space that prioritizes the development of a safe space in which to explore both the client and their voice’s full potential. Rejecting the Master-Apprentice model, the teaching principles of Medini and her Studio are based on the latest scientific literature regarding the voice, whether that be about pitch development, understanding breath and support, or working on songs and pieces of the client’s choice. Her mission is to provide high quality science based vocal training to both singers and teacher, with kindness and joy always being the main priority in every lesson.
As is the case with many Indian musicians and teachers, Medini began her musical journey on the side while pursuing a more traditional education – doing her BA Honours in History and MA in Gender Studies – which she uses to link with her teaching practice. This influence can be seen in how she incorporates and explores the historic roots of Hindustani and Carnatic Classical Music into her practice. Moreover, it lends itself into her overall mission statement of inclusivity and by extension her work with Trans and Non-Binary singers – on both spoken and singing voice.
Medini works online internationally, helping a whole range of singers with everything from preparing for professional gigs and auditions, to performing at special events or Karaoke; People who are serious about singing hoping to unlock their full potential, as well as those just looking for a safe space to express themselves and find their voices.
Her classes are a safe space for everyone – Queer Inclusive, Neurodivergent affirming, multi-genre, multi-language, and always kind.
