About

About

I’m a freelance bass player and guitarist from Neath, South Wales. I’ve recorded at various studios and toured the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and America. I’ve performed with original artists such as ShellyAnn (winner of BBC show Altogether Now 2019), Dan Croll and Who’s Molly?.

I’ve been lucky enough to play at festivals such as SXSW (Texas), Pukkelpop, Carfest, Latitude Festival, Radio 1 Big Weekend, Isle of Wight festival, V Festival and Hop Farm. I’ve also performed at Somerset House London, KOKO, SIR (Los Angeles) and the legendary Cavern Club Liverpool.

I performed at the Welsh Baftas in 2018 and recorded live sessions at Maida Vale for BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens) and BBC Radio 2 (Janice Long).

I began teaching in 2016, and during my time as a bass and guitar tutor, I have taught people from all walks of life and ages. I’m very patient and considerate in nature, which helps my students learn in a positive and uplifting environment. I get a great sense of achievement when my students leave the lesson having picked up a new skill or song. I really enjoy seeing people progress on their instruments.

Can’t speak highly enough about Matthew. My grandson has guitar lessons with Matt. He loves his lessons. He likes to play songs of his choice and also likes to create his own music and Matthew encourages him! The lessons are fun and enjoyable experiences. He is also working towards grades. I recommend these tutors very highly and would encourage anyone reading this review to join in the fun!!
