About Marilena Stefanou
Hello, my name is Marilena, and I’m a professional singer, vocal coach, and music educator based in the UK and Cyprus. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music from Leeds Conservatoire, where I spent four years developing my artistry, performance skills, and teaching methods.
With years of experience on stage and in the studio, I’ve had the privilege of performing on television and at venues like the Royal Albert Hall. I’m currently working closely with students of all ages, helping them build confidence, improve technique, and express themselves through music.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your voice, learn piano, dive into music theory, or write your first song, I’m here to provide support and guide you through every step of the way with lessons tailored to your goals, pace, and style.
In addition to teaching and performing, I’m also an active songwriter. I recently signed an original track with MediaTracks, a respected UK-based library music publisher. The track will soon be featured in their catalogue, making it available for sync licensing by major media companies such as Universal Music Group (UMG), Warner Music Group, Sony Music, and Columbia Records. I’m also currently awaiting a placement decision on another song submitted to their team.
To me, music is more than a skill. I see music as a powerful way of connecting with our inner self as well as with the people around us. My approach combines structure with creativity, and technique with emotional expression, in a safe and encouraging environment.
One of my favourite quotes is “Art is the expression of the profoundest thoughts in the simplest way” by Albert Einstein.”
